New technologies and approaches to IT lifecycle management


Kerry Marti - PDSBrian Loken of Quality Power Solutions will discuss innovations in battery backup technologies using Lithium-ion. Kerry Marti of PDS will explain how the Device as a Service (DaaS) business model is replacing traditional IT purchase and leasing programs and how this model can be applied at organizations.



1:00 - 2:00 p.m.:
How IT device reuse & recycling advances our company's goals

Janice Tiedt of TDSHear from Janice Tiedt of TDS about how they repurpose refurbished computers to effectively serve business needs and save money. Halie Tenor of American Family Insurance will describe the development of their sustainability program and how they leverage their IT asset disposition activities to demonstrate positive environmental and cost impacts.

 

2:30 - 3:30 p.m.:
Complying with the law and benefiting the community


Alyssa Kenney, Executive Director of DANEnetSarah Murray, who coordinates the DNR's E-Cycle Wisconsin program, will offer details on e-waste recycling activities and regulations in the state. Alyssa Kenney of DANEnet will explain how its partnership with corporations, ISPs, municipalities and community centers allows them to funnel quality refurbished computer equipment and training to community members in need.

On-site Media Destruction — Talk with Cascade technicians about options to destroy your hard drives and other media at your facility. Cascade will demonstrate our hard drive crusher and media degausser. You can also see options for the secure collection and transport of your media by Cascade for further destruction.

Reselling Reusable Equipment — Talk with our resale team about what happens with your reusable equipment and how you and your co-workers can buy refurbished equipment from the Cascade Marketplace. See what’s available for sale.

Turning Recyclable Scrap into Raw Materials — Cascade’s compliance team will be available to answer your questions about what happens after Cascade separates end of life electronics into more than 50 different recoverable commodity streams. See examples of a demanufactured PC and LCD monitor and trace its recovery throughout the recycling chain.

Service Information Desk — Talk with Cascade representatives about the wide variety of services available from Cascade to assist you with the Safe & Sound disposition of your IT equipment. We can assist with employee computer collection events, donation programs, lease return services, asset moves, and more. We’d love to hear your needs and see if we can help.

How toner cartridges get refurbished — Cascade’s downstream processor for toner cartridges (American Laser Products) will show samples of how they clean, refurbish and remarket toners.
