Vaping is a new trend sweeping the nation among teens that can be hard to detect by parents and teachers. Teen brains don’t fully develop until the age of 25, and nicotine adversely affects that development.

Providing a safe and positive environment for teens

Boys & Girls Club of Las Cruces provides teens with a safe place and positive activity every week through their Teen Night. With funding from the Paso del Norte Health Foundation's IGNITE Initiative, the Boys & Girls Club are engaging disconnected youth in out-of-school programs to help avoid them from using drugs, alcohol, or being involved in criminal activity.

Health Foundation Program Officer awarded fellowship

Jana Renner is one of 27 advocates awarded the Walking College Fellowship from America Walks. She will participate in a five-month training program designed to strengthen local efforts to make communities more walkable and livable.
