Pompette is a newsletter that's curated to help you
live through your senses.
Can you believe that April is almost over? While we are about to experience spring in the Northern Hemisphere, it's time for autumn in the Southern Hempishere. Both seasons mean change is in the air. Spring is all about fertility and birth while autumn is about something ending or maturing. Both energies are necessary to move forward. Embrace where you are and bloom where you're planted. xoxo~Shoshi

Tipsy Tarot

This week’s pairing is with the Les Vampires Oracle and Susana Balbo Signature Rosé. The universe gave me a little message to use a dark deck as me move closer to the light which is where the rosé comes in.  Les Vampires is an oracle that is all about inner fears and getting back our power. That brings me to the powerhouse, Susana Balbo, who makes some of the finest wines coming out of Argentina. The beautiful salmon colored rosé is something any vampire or person would love making it the perfect pairing.

This week’s the cards coming through are Knowledge, Eternal Youth, and Make That Call.

This week get some education in. As they say, never stop learning.  Is there something that you have been interested in learning more about? Make this week all about getting the 411. When the spirit is craving something new, there’s always a reason. Take things a step further by signing up for a class. Not only will you be learning something new, it’s possible that you will expand your social circle.

The great thing about energy is that you are in charge. Even when you feel like you aren’t, especially when you feel like you aren’t. It’s spring in the USA and I realize that it may be autumn where you are. Whatever season you are experiencing, take a deep breath and feel the energy around. What do you need from the universe? Go ahead and ask for it. You have the power to conjure whatever you need and so much more.

Sometimes it’s hard to ask for help, but it can be amazing when you do. Maybe you need assistance with a big thing or even a small one. Reach out to your squad. Now I know you may not want everybody in your business. That one person that's a ride or die for you, that’s your go to.

Long story short:

Expanding your mind is always a good thing. You never know where that knowledge will lead. Get those skills. You are the captain of your own ship therefore, you are in control of your energy source. Dig deep to tap into your resource. Don’t let anyone or anything stifle you. If you need help, don’t be scared to ask for it. Whenever we need something the universe finds a way to provide. Throw the request out there. An answer and assistance will arrive. Blessed be!

Witch On Wine:

  • I think I’ve let it be known how I feel about Trader Joe’s “Two –Buck Chuck” wines. I wouldn’t wish them on an enemy. Okay, it's not like I never drank them. When I lived in San Francisco and money was tight I was all about the wines. Also my palate wasn’t what it is now…bougie AF. I have so many questions about what is really in the wine, especially since there really isn’t a Charles Shaw Winery. Artificial flavors anyone? If the wines get a person to explore wine then sip on. The adventures and regret of bad wines await. Welcome to the wine club.
  • Summer is quickly approaching which means chances are you will be entertaining for family and friends. Let the barbecues and rooftop parties begins. That also means it’s time for punch. The perfect punch can really get a party going. Also, it’s the perfect way to free yourself up from having to make drink after drink. There’s a German wine punch that’s just the thing. Cheers!

Bruja On Beer:

  • Maine is one of those places that looks very magickal in photos. I always think of Jessica from Murder She Wrote riding her bike along the water with flowers blowing in the wind. Besides fictional murders, Maine is known for their craft breweries and distilleries. The Maine Beer Company is taking craft to a whole other level by making a commitment to their employees and the environment. The company has grown so much that they will probably produce 23,000 barrels this year. Their taproom is solar powered and they even donate 1%  of their annual sales to a network of eco nonprofits. I haven’t tried this beer yet, but love what they are doing to give back to the community and Mother Earth.

Sober Self:

  • There’s a dry movement going on and it’s getting serious. So serious that there is a bar in Brooklyn that has opened that has zero alcohol. The tasty drinks that you can get at Getaway are made with juices, coconut milk, Pellegrino and so on. We all know that part of drinking is the community experience so if you are alcohol free, you still can get the vibe of the imbibe. I have a feeling this will inspire other alcohol free bars around the world.
Travel:
  • The North Fork wine region is one of the most known in New York thanks to wineries like Shinn Estates. Instead of spending all your time in NYC, why not spend a chill night around the vines. While Times Squares gets all the hype, wine country in New York has a lot to offer. So if you come to the BIg Apple, explore the city during the week then make your way to a local winery on the weekend. Of course the stays come with a wine tasting. Win wine situation.
