We are excited to be paricipating in GiveBIG 2019! This year we are raising funds for our scholarship program.

Art is a universal language and the basis for all that we do. Everything starts with art! That chair you are sitting on? Someone had to design it and build it. That phone you are reading this from? Someone had to design how it would look and perform. The images on it … art! We use art to express ourselves and to be understood. We are bombarded daily with visual stimulation, and in order to fully understand visual imagery and its meaning, it is essential that all people receive an arts-infused education.

We provide that experience here at NWAC, but we need your help.

A month of classes for one student ranges from $85 for core visual arts to $110 for digital arts. Some people simply can not afford that. We want everyone to have access to art and have a scholarship fund to solve that.

Last year, you helped us raise funds to help our outreach program for the Bridge of Promise. We have had a wonderful year celebrating them and all the creativity that they hold within them.

This year, we would love to be able to help children and adults who can not afford classes to attend. Won’t you help us?

On May 8, thousands of Pacific Northwest residents are going to show their support for their favorite nonprofit during GiveBIG. We would love you to support us and our art students!

You don’t have to wait for May 8th! Starting Tuesday, April 23, you will be able to schedule an online donation by creating a quick account on givebig2019.org.

Follow us on Facebook so that you can share in the excitement of the giving day and remember to give April 23 through May 8!

WhyArt.jpg
Kids taking art class develop mentally, socially, and emotionally. Creating art can enhance their ability to analyze and problem-solve. Fine motor skills are developed through using different art tools. By experimenting with materials, they dabble in science. When kids feel good while they are creating art, their self confidence is boosted. Children who can experiment and make mistakes feel free to invent new ways of thinking. All of this means that a long-term, sustained arts education is good for body, mind, and soul.
