DAY OF THE LANDLESS 

 

FARMERS RISE FOR LAND, LIFE, AND FOOD SOVEREIGNTY

139 groups from 29 countries marked the Day of the Landless last March 29 to underscore worsening landlessness and threats to the right to land, food, and food sovereignty.
With the theme “Reclaim Our Lands, Reclaim Our Future”, members and networks of the Asian Peasant Coalition (APC), the Peoples Coalition on Food Sovereignty (PCFS), and the PAN-Asia Pacific (PANAP) observed the Day of the Landless
The Day of the Landless was jointly launched by the APC and PANAP and hosted by Aliansi Gerakan Reforma Agraria (AGRA) on 29 March 2015 in Jakarta, Indonesia. The date marks the founding anniversary of the APC and the launching of PANAP’s “No Land, No Life!” campaign.
