Oh, hi friends!

I moved the item on my to-do list every day.

The day would end, I'd say, "Whoops, didn't get to it again," and I'd pop it to tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow. I even moved it on my Google Calendar, too. It haunted me in multiple venues. This went on for over a month.

Finally, there was no other choice — either I had to do it, or the opportunity would be gone forever. And the thing was, I wanted to do it.

I didn't magically find more time to get it done. I actually needed less time. I needed urgency.

So when there was no other choice, I did it. (Of course, it only took 10 minutes.)

(That thing, by the way, was "pitch Tim at New York Times my Pulitzer idea" — and that idea became the "Tip of the Week" in yesterday's Smarter Living! Scroll down to see it here.)

But the outcome didn't matter so much as the decision to get it out of my brain and off of the list.

Maybe now I'll think about tackling those other outstanding tasks that have lingered even longer. Less time. More urgency.

Don't forget to put on your protective covering before you go out into the world today. Whatever that may look like.

“Life favors the specific ask and punishes the vague wish.”

From Tools of Titans. I'm going to keep this book of interviews open on my coffee table again and read a few pages every day. So many good nuggets.

What can you get specific about and ask for today?
I mean, that flashback to Tiger at 3 years old? Yeah. It got me.

NEVER STOP CHASING YOUR DREAM.
