Legislative Recap

Farm Act and Committees

This week, the House is working diligently on their budget which will come over to the Senate in a few weeks. On our side of things, bills are continuing through Committees and we are making changes and improvements as they pass through.

Some larger bills with more intricate language don’t have the same deadline to be sent to the House though. Bills like the Farm Act of 2019 will probably take several more weeks to refine and pass. It is always a challenge putting together such a complex package to help our farmers, but we are putting a great deal of effort towards making it the best and most helpful legislation yet for rural NC!
