Overview
The mission of the Women in Analytics Conference is to provide visibility to the women making an impact in the analytics space and provide a platform for them to lead the conversations around the advancements of analytics research, development, and application.
The speaker line-up is the only aspect of our conference that is dedicated exclusively to women. Our definition of women includes all cisgender and transgender women in addition to those who identify as genderqueer, gender non-conforming, and non-binary. All other aspects of the conference, from attendance to competitions and scholarships, are open to everyone regardless of gender identity or expression. This includes WIA team, volunteer and ambassador opportunities.
WIA volunteers and ambassadors receive complimentary passes to the conference, have the opportunity to network with influential analytics leaders, and have access to exclusive events before, during, and after the conference.

Who can apply?
Any professional or student 18 years or older, regardless of gender or nationality, may apply online to be a WIA volunteer or ambassador.
If I do not live in the US, can I still apply?
Yes! We encourage international applications, especially for ambassador positions.
Are there any gender requirements?
No! Anyone 18 years or older who meets to position requirements may apply.
What is the Women in Analytics Conference?
The WIA conference is a 3-day event to be held in June 2020 in Columbus, OH. WIA team members will have the opportunity to hear from analytics leaders, connect with industry professionals, attend exclusive events, and gain inspiration to take back and share with their companies.

WIA has an international presence and brings together industry professionals, entrepreneurs, and academia of all genders. Past attendees include Analysts, Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, Researchers, Software Developers/Engineers, Academia, Students, and Executives.
What is the application process like?

- Apply to be a WIA volunteer or ambassador by May 31st, 2019 deadline
- Promising applicants contacted by June 3rd to set up a 15-minute phone interview with WIA leadership
- Selection decisions emailed out by June 17th, 2019
- If you are selected to be a WIA team member or ambassador we will set up a call with your shortly afterward to welcome you to the team and begin the onboarding process.
- If you are not selected, we still encourage you to keep in touch and stay involved with WIA through the conference, our social media campaigns, other events, and more!
Do I need to have previous analytics experience?
We are looking for individuals with an interest in analytics, a grasp of basic technical concepts, and an understanding of the WIA and technical community. You do not need to be working in or majoring in a technical field to apply.
