The School of Art congratulates the winners of our annual art awards! An exhibition of work by award recipients will be held May 1 through 10 in the foyers, hallways, and Ellis gallery on the third floor of the College of Fine Arts. see the winners

Announcing New Faculty Appointment in Photography

The School of Art is pleased to announce the appointment of Katherine Hubbard as Assistant Professor of Art in the area of Photography. Hubbard, who previously held faculty appointments at Columbia University and in the Bard MFA program, uses photography, writing, and performance to examine photography’s continuing significance. read more

Professor Susanne Slavick Honored with the 2019 Henry Hornbostel Teaching Award

At Carnegie Mellon’s Celebration of Teaching later this month, Professor Susanne Slavick will be recognized as the recipient of the College of Fine Arts’ 2019 Henry Hornbostel Teaching Award, named after the first dean of the college and architect of the original Carnegie Tech campus. read more

Filling all three floors of the galleries, students present final artworks and research as the culmination of their undergraduate experience. read more

Prof Versari has been invited to give a talk at the Center for Italian Modern Art in New York as part of the “Metaphysical Masterpiece Study Day,” Apr 26-27. read more

Adjunct Professor of Art

Prof Wormsley will present her film “Children of Nan” at a screening at Silver Eye Center for Photography on Apr 24. read more
