What an awesome Fun Run!! The final tally is coming in and we will have raised about $35,000 for programs sponsored by the LCE PTA: class field trips, art docent & science lab programs, events like the spring carnival, science fair, and cultural night, after-school clubs, high school scholarships, classroom allocations for teachers, PE and music equipment, and much more!

Students, families, teachers, staff, volunteers and Apex team -- we are so proud of all the work you put into this fundraiser, and in awe of what we can all accomplish together for Little Cedars!

Also, a reminder that we are a 501c3 organization, and donations are tax-deductible. If you employer participates in a corporate matching program, such as Boeing, Microsoft, Starbucks, you can submit paid donations to your company and they will match the amount! What's up with the puzzle pieces around school?

Little Cedars PTA is proud to support Autism Awareness & Acceptance Month! With the help of PTA member and parent, BJ Taylor, we have created a page on our website with online resources for helping your family learn about the ways our friends with Autism Spectrum Disorder respond to the world.
Please visit our Autism Awareness & Acceptance webpage - but first, BJ wants to share the meaning behind the puzzle pieces you see around school!

You are invited to come experience an evening celebrating Arts and Culture!  The Little Cedars Students Art Work will be on display in the hallways and we will have a special area devoted to Cultural Exhibits. 

Also new this year - You can participate in a Canvas & Cider, from 6:45-7:15pm.  The Art Docent committee has put together a fun art project and we'll be serving sparkling cider. We will learn a bit about the artist George Rodrigue, how life events inspired his art, and paint his famous Blue Dog.

The Canvas & Cider will be $5 per person and advanced registration is required.

Monday, May 6th: Teacher Appreciation Day: Bring your teacher, Mr. D and Mr. Hanson a handwritten note of thanks!

Tuesday, May 7th: Office staff Appreciation: Bring A flower for the office staff.

Wednesday May 8th: A thank you note for specialists: PE Teachers, Music Teachers, Librairians, AND any school helper (Speech,Reading,Counseling,ect.)

Thursday May9th: Classroom Supply Day: Bring a classroom supply for your teacher and/or favorite school helper (Speech, Reading,Counseling, ect.)

Friday May 10th: Bus Driver Appreciation Day: bring a note or treat for your bus driver.

We will also be hosting a breakfast for our staff on Monday, a luncheon on Wednesday, and a dessert bar on Friday. Please sign up to help supply wonderful food items for our staff:

Our last big event of the school year is our Silent Auction and Carnival!   We are excited to announce some fantastic fun planned for this year - and most is free!

  • Pie a Staff Member ($ TBD)

  • Cake Walk $1
But we need a lot of Volunteers to help pull it together!

Spring Silent Auction: May 17, 2019 Do you have a gift basket you would like to donate for the Silent Auction.  We would be so thankful for your contribution!  Please contact Heather Mauermann if you'd like to donate a basket, product or service for the auction.
Golden Acorn Nominations Open!
Do you know of someone that goes above and beyond at our school to volunteer, shows dedication to our students, and you want them to know they are appreciated? If so, please send us their name as we are looking to recognize this year's Golden Acorn recipient(s).

What is a Golden Acorn you may wonder? This is a very special award given by our PTA for individuals who have given outstanding volunteer service and shown dedication to our children & youth. Candidates are required to be PTA members, demonstrate service to all students, and their volunteer service generally extends into the community in addition to their service through PTA & the school environment.

Please help select this years winner by submitting candidates. Please fill out the nomination form at on our website and return it to school or email it to president@littlecedarspta.org by May 13, 2019. Our Golden Acorn Award committee will make the final selection.
