"Then, He [Jesus] said to His disciples, "The harvest is plentiful, but the works are few. Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest." Matthew 9:37-38

APRIL 2019

Dear <<First Name>>,

As we reflect on our first four-year term overseas in France and French speaking Switzerland, our hearts are burdened for those living in a spiritually dark land who are faithfully following Christ. With less than 1% true Christians in Western Europe, the majority of the population consists of false religions, cults and anti-Christian philosophies. Different forms of Atheism (denying the existence of God), Humanism (elevating man to be God), and Hedonism (the pursuit of sinful pleasure and sensual self-indulgence) appear to be the most prominent beliefs in France. This ungodly environment only leads to high suicide rates and depression among the people.

Jesus along with HIS gospel is the only solution to rescue a suffering and dying soul. Existing churches need to be strengthened, new churches need to be established, and doctrinally sound training centers need to be started. These have been our goals as we seek to establish a strong support base while on furlough (home field ministry) in the States. The work of a missionary does not stop when he or she is stateside, it continues on to maintain and establish a strong prayer and finance support base in the U.S. in order to fulfill the Great Commission overseas.
Teaching a weekend retreat with Lighthouse Bible Church in San Jose, California.
Within this challenging task of traveling as a family of 5 all over the U.S and serving in various ways is a host of blessings! It is always wonderful spending time with believers, praying and worshipping together and expressing our thankfulness face to face to those who have been supporting us throughout the years. As we spend time with believers during our travels, our hearts are wounded when we have to say goodbye. Thank you for being such a blessing to our family! Please continue to pray as we travel and serve in the U.S. while planning to return to France after our time here is completed.

Sharing with various groups at Canyon Bible Church in Prescott, Arizona.
Thank you for being a major part of this ministry through prayer and support. Please continue to pray for the church in Geneva to grow into a healthy church. We thank God for our faithful colleagues John and Meg Glass who continue to press on in the ministry of the EEIG.

Love in Christ,
James, Julia, Elijah, William & Wesley
IMPORTANT INFORMATION from GMI concerning usWhile serving in France our financial support has dropped significantly. GMI has notified us that we need to raise new support before returning to the field. If you or your church are interested in partnering, please follow the instructions at the end of this prayer letter or contact us personally.
Praise report: After many years and a lot of paperwork, the boys received their Italian passports in February! They are now dual American-Italian citizens, which allows them to reside easily in the European Union, including France.
In February we celebrated all three boys birthdays with friends while visiting Pennsylvania. Elijah turned 11 in January, William turned 8 in February, and Wesley turned 5 in March.
Please Pray:
  • For the financial support needed to return to France
  • The preparation and presentation of various speaking engagements during our furlough
  • Finalizing Italian citizenship for our children and Julia while stateside
  • For the EEIG church to be strengthened and stablized with godly leadership
  • Our children's faith to grow through the adjustments transitions of missionary life
  • Opportunities to share Christ and the ability to proclaim HIM well in French
  • A close walk with God for our family
