What is the cost of discipleship?

View this email in your browser
It seems so strange to re-enter ‘normal life’ so soon after Easter. The pain in Sri Lanka, inflicted on Easter Morning, showed to us yet again the world’s need for salvation.

We need to pray that God will have mercy on our nation as we teeter on the edge of political confusion and reject biblical standards of morality for those of a god we create in our own image.

The cost of disciple is something we should all bear. It means giving up our very selves to be conformed to the image of God.

Jesus welcomed everyone to follow his ways but never compromised on his Father’s design.  Christ’s church is at its heart inclusive. It needs, as Mike Pilavachi put it, “to have the highest biblical standards of morality but also…to have utter, complete and total mercy and grace for everyone who doesn’t meet those standards;” one in which “mercy triumphs over judgement.”
