Boys Track & Field Wins IHSA Class 3A State Championship!
Congratulations to the Crete-Monee High School Boys Track and Field Team for winning the 3A IHSA State Championship!
The Warriors ended their magical season by amassing 66 points by receiving All-State performances in nine different events. State Champion performances were achieved by Jamal Safo in the Long Jump and Victor Cameron in the 110 Meter Hurdles. All-State honors were also earned by Kylen Andrews, Sammy Assil, Ricky Johnson, Kavon Jones, RaeJohn Pearson, and Trayvon Rudolph.
Most remarkably, the State Champion 4x100-meter relay team of Victor Cameron, Jamal Safo, Kavon Jones, and Ricky Johnson shattered the existing record in the event. Their time of 40.86 seconds is the only mark under 41 seconds in Illinois High School history! Awesome job, Warriors!

This month, the Strategic Planning Committee comprised of teachers, students, staff, board members, administrators, parents, and community members will meet for a final time. The committed partners have worked hard over the past four months with the Consortium for Educational Change (CEC) to gather and analyze feedback to understand the current state of our district, engage public perceptions, and corroborate the hopes, needs, and expectations of all stakeholders. June 4th will be the final meeting of the team where they will review feedback from the community on the draft of the new plan and reach consensus on their Goal Statements.
Each of the long-range goals will eventually have indicators, measure, and targets to be able to monitor and report progress. District administration will then have the important responsibility to develop a data “scorecard” system aligned to the strategic plan goals and strategies. The final plan will be presented to the superintendent who will then recommend the plan for approval at the next board meeting.
“The awesome work done by this committee is so encouraging,” said Supt. Coglianese. “Without complaint, they have invested their time and energy for the good of our schools and our children’s future. What I know for sure is that we will be a better organization after this process,” she added.
