Thank You Corner:
Bike & Roll to School Day

Many thanks to all the volunteers who helped make Bike & Roll to School Day a success - Cambria Gersten, Chris McCarthy, Brittany Jarabek, Robyn Kessler, Harper Honan, Matthew Triska, Nick Latham, Deb Tjoa, Ms. Classy and Mr. Hartford!

It certainly takes a village to:
Escort bike trains
Set up / Make homemade treats
Cheer the kids on
Escort and encourage students from buses
Promote the event
Be a cool principal and join the bike train.

See you next year and until then, ride & roll safely everyone!

PLEASE JOIN US:
THIS Saturday, April 27
11am-3pm

We can't wait to feed baby goats and pet horses, bounce in TWO bounce-houses, write on the graffiti wall and send tiny messages home with pigeons! Come to meet and learn about the amazing superheroes in our community - including a park ranger from the SF Maritime Museum, a beekeeper from Planet Bee, police officers from our Taraval Police station and more! Play fun carnival games, make superhero capes, get our faces painted and eat BBQ and Cotton Candy!

None of our 4th or 5th grade classrooms has yet signed up to lead a game or activity. We would like to suggest that you choose one game for the entire 4th and 5th grade to lead and consider asking the kids to run your game! We have a few great games that are still not claimed! Check out our brand-new Hot Pink PLINKO game and the newly created Captain Hook Ring Toss!

If you'd like to lead a game or activity, just check the list here and email us to let us know which game you want to claim: SHS@Lakeshoreelementary.org

Sign up to Volunteer
We are still looking for volunteers to help set up, monitor the bounce-houses, help with prizes and sales of admission tickets, raffle tickets, and spirit gear! We can't wait to see you all next Saturday!
Reminder: Lakeshore Testing Season
Testing will be happening in April and May for our 3rd-5th graders. Let’s work together and make your child’s experience a positive and successful one!

Here are some suggestions you can do to help everyday:
  • Make sure your child arrives at school on time.
  • Have your child eat a healthy breakfast at home or at school.
  • Ensure your child gets a good night’s sleep.
  • Gently encourage them to do their best.
Staff Appreciation Week
Parents and students, May 6-10 is Staff Appreciation Week! Let's say thanks to our Lakeshore teachers and staff by bringing them a little something to brighten up each day of that week.

Check next week's edition of the Paw Print Press for daily themes with small suggested gifts, such as a piece of fruit, a treat, school supplies, a handmade card, a breakfast, and other ideas. We are finalizing daily themes but if you want to sign up early, please visit bit.ly/ls19sa.

Participation is optional and gifts do not need to be expensive.
Turn in Raffle Tickets by
THIS FRIDAY

These are the last few days of selling for the Lakeshore Raffle! All tickets must be brought to the office by FRIDAY at 3:30pm to receive credit toward top student and classroom prizes. We will draw the winners at Community Superhero Saturday on April 27.

If you miss the deadline, you should still bring your tickets to the raffle table on Saturday, but they will not count toward top seller prizes.

If you have sold tickets already, great job! DON'T WAIT UNTIL THE LAST DAY TO TURN THEM IN—turn them in as you go to make it easier for our volunteers. If you sell more, just turn in additional tickets and money in another envelope. Bonus: when you turn your packet in early, you can check if we processed it by viewing this post.

Didn't get a packet? Need more tickets?
Adults can get tickets in the office near Ms. Mao’s desk. If you can't stop by, (1) ask a fellow parent to get some for you, (2) contact pta@LakeshoreElementary.org to have more sent home with your child, or (3) give your child a note requesting more.

Reminders
• Check payments are preferred
• Prize 1: 4 Giants lower box seat tickets to a 2019 regular season home game + opportunity for four to watch batting practice from the field before the game
• Prize 2: 5 Disneyland 1-Day Park Hopper Tickets (valid through 12/20/2020)
• Prize 3: a new Amazon Kindle
• Top student seller prize: $25 Target gift card
• Top classroom prize: a pizza party

We still need help counting tickets on Friday, 4/26 either at 8:30-9:30 or 3:30-4:30. If you can spare just an hour, please sign up at bit.ly/ls19raffle.
If you are not able to sell your raffle ticket bundles, PLEASE return them to the office so others can sell more. Supplies are limited!
