Just wanted to share that this past Saturday was definitely a preview of what spring and summer will be at the Museum. It felt good to be back to the level of activity that makes the Museum so magical.
There were high school games all day on the field and between game watchers and walkins we had over 100 visitors.
We had 6 people for an Air BnB tour which netted $120. We also made $125 on merchandise sales and memberships.
We also launched our podcast.
Our Spring Membership Drive is going well. 21 new members just this month, lured no doubt by the promise of being invited to the Members Only Party on Saturday May 4 at 2:30 pm.
This is when we will "unveil" the model of League Park we have on loan from the Indians, and share some new things we have discovered. Ricardo Rodriquez, our Museum studies intern is helping me plan.
This past Saturday was the first Saturday we stayed open until 4 and that will continue. From now through May open hours will be Wednesdays 1-4 and Saturdays 10-4.
Beginning in June we can expand those hours, thanks to being able to engage an additional docent with museum experience, new volunteers and for the second year interns from the University Circle high school intern program.
June will also feature "First Pitch of Summer" on Saturday June 8. Greater Cleveland Sports Commission is the organizer but it all starts at League Park
Our "private tour" business is booming! In addition to the Air BnB tours, We have 3 on the books for the rest of April, and 16 so far booked for the summer. These includes children's field trips, senior visits, national tours, and family reunions. At a requested donation of $5/10 per person depending on the group this is creating a small but steady income stream.
We are also engaged to do programs at 7 branches of Cuyahoga County Public Library beginning in June. Ken Krsolovic , author of the popular book on League Park which we cannot keep in stock, will be helping with these.
I am sure I am still forgetting things. But I know we are going to have a great summer!
