Nobody's Girl made their first European tour last month. They had a blast touring in Ireland, Germany and The Netherlands. We asked the band to share a story from their tour... here you go, from the desk of Grace Pettis with Nobody's Girl:
Touring overseas comes with its own unique challenges, namely downsizing enough to make your instrument, gear, and merch setup portable enough. We shared one acoustic guitar and one electric guitar between the three of us, perfected the Tetris puzzle in our rental car and managed to bring lots of cds, plus BettySoo's handmade jewelry and Rebecca's new album on vinyl! We packed light enough to fit some souvenirs in the crevices of our suitcases on the way back. A few bars of chocolate, a couple bottles of beer, and a few irresistible articles of clothing from Irish and Dutch shops.
We also discovered the true meaning of the free "continental breakfast" buffet. Turns out, American hotels have been lying to us for years with their waffle irons and stale cornflakes. The genuine article in the Netherlands consists of a wide variety of fresh meats, cheeses, and breakfast breads- scones, toast, croissants, and biscuits. Plus eggs, bacon, tomatoes, fruit, tea, juice, espresso, yogurt, and an impressive selection of spreads: Nutella and other hazelnut/chocolate spreads, marmalade, jams, jellies, and butter. You have to experience it to believe it. And the pièce-de-résistance: chocolate sprinkles on toast. Seriously. It’s a thing. They come in these cute little boxes. I may have put one or two... or ten in my purse to take home.

News from the roster:
- Beaver Nelson starts a weekly residency this month. He will be at the Continental Gallery at 8:30pm every Saturday night. Come by and bring a friend!
- Nobody's Girl returns to the Kerrville Folk Festival for a second year. They will be playing opening weekend, Friday May 24th. We hope to see some of you down on the ranch.
- Nels Andrews hits the road with his new record in hand. Be sure to catch one of his shows in NY, MA, VT, ME, CA, NM, TX - complete dates listed below and on his web site.
- BettySoo kicks off the month with our friend Michael Fracasso with shows on May 3/4/5 - Oklahoma City, Dallas & Austin.
