Feature Film Award

Deadline: July 2, 2019
An annual national award valued at up to approximately $200,000 in-kind towards a first or second, scripted live-action fiction feature film project directed by a Canadian woman, anywhere in Canada.

Story & Leadership
Deadline:
July 31, 2019

Led by seasoned professionals, this WIDC program will be delivered in four parts over the course of four months, including master classes and hands-on workshops with ACTRA actors and IATSE camera teams, the popular WFF Industry Immersion presented in collaboration with the Whistler Film Festival, and tailored follow up over the three months following the workshop. Focusing on fiction feature film, web and television series development, a jury of industry professionals will select eight mid-career women screen directors. Director Participants must be prepared to attend the entire program and plan to direct the project they submit for development to the program. All dates may be subject to change.

Career Advancement Module (CAM)

The CAM offers a tailored leadership mentorship experience that leads to a strategic plan for your career trajectory. CAM recipients are awarded a complimentary pass to the host Film Festival, facilitated one to one and private group meetings with mentors and industry insiders, and 3 x 1-hour follow up coaching sessions after the Festival.  Peer adjudicated. No tuition fee. <<more>>  

NOTE: Applications are being accepted for sessions in St John's (October 15 to 20, 2019); Toronto (November 6 to 13, 2019), and Vancouver (March TBA, 2020).

Telefilm Canada PITCH THIS!

Deadline: June 28, 2019

TIFF 2019 is your chance to bring a feature-film project to life. All genres and styles of presentation are permitted. The most original and compelling story will be awarded a prize of $15,000. Six teams have six minutes their feature-film idea to a live audience of industry delegates and a jury of development and production experts.



Whistler Film Festival
Deadline: June 30 & August 15

Submissions are now open for the annual Whistler Film Festival (WFF). They are seeking fresh films for their 19th edition (December 4 to 8). Featuring up to 90 films (45 features and 45 shorts) from Canada and around the world, WFF19 will include up to seven juried competitive sections and 14 awards with over $146,500 in cash and prizes to be awarded. Canadian and International filmmakers are invited to submit films of all lengths and genres.
