"Finding a Cornas or Hermitage with the same finesse and complexity as a good Craiglee Shiraz would be a frighteningly expensive exercise." - Max Allen
"Marvellously sophisticated... freshness and delicacy." - Jancis Robinson
The legendary Craiglee Vineyard is possibly making some of its best wine in an illustrious history spanning four decades. Entirely estate grown, this Shiraz 2015 is simply quite breath taking. An elegant, cool climate expression made for the long haul.
"The 2015 has been made for the long term. Beautifully composed, well-integrated nose. Peppery and fresh and wonderfully sprightly. Lots of life in there. "17.5/20 Points.” - Jancis Robinson
Craiglee Chardonnay's richness is tamed slightly by vintage, but this is a generous and full-bodied expression. And the finish! It sails on, persistently long, with layers of flavour and nutty oak. For the 'bigger but beautifully balanced' Chardonnay purists!
"If Craiglee Shiraz is extra-fine, the Chardonnay is rather idiosyncratic. Instead of aping the current Australian Chardonnay super-skinny norm, Craiglee's version is somewhat unreconstructed: exuberant fruit but remarkably high in natural acidity, partly thanks to suppressing the usual softening malolactic conversion” - Jancis Robinson
