Eudunda Caravan Park Fills over Easter Weekend. Those who visited gave glowing reports on the facilities and the area in general. They were happy to recommend the park to everyone, some even taking the time to post nice reviews online. Photo above Peter Herriman.

Ed: It's been a busy week here in the office (and at meetings) so this newsletter is a bit short on articles and photos, as I try rush out reminders for some of our events - take a look at the big list of events at the bottom of the newsletter. Wow! May is a busy month, come and join in some of the great things that are happening. I'll try catch up with the "news items" in next edition.
Ed: One error I found (myself) In the previous newsletter I had captioned the Eudunda Bakery article wrongly. I spelt the name of the wonderful Carmen Jonas wrong, sorry Carmen

ECBAT Urge you to 'Buy Local' At The Market

ECBAT encourage everyone to inquire locally for goods and services, first, that way you can help keep businesses and employment local.

The same goes for our local organisations, such as the Community Hub and Shed. They have a local market on this Saturday 4th, from 8:30am to 12:30pm - Rain will not stop them (if we have any). Some stalls this Saturday will be:

Bric-a-brac, Manuka Native Nursery,Spray Free Fruit & Vegetables, Olive Oil, Crafts and More. Plus BBQ

Below: Craig & Joshua Fenton of "Fenton Farm Fresh" with thier Spray Free Fruit & Vegetables showing off some of thier locally grown produce, picked that morning.

Trash & Treasure Produce Market - 4th May

Supporting MOW Community Fundraising

Previously at the Trash & Treasure Produce Market

Each market varies in who you will meet and it was a delight to talk to these lovely happy ladies from Morgan who were raising much needed funds for the Meals on Wheels Car Replacement fund.
Started in 2018, they are working many different markets - and might we say 'having a ball at the same time. There was definitely a bargain to be had at thier stall.
The next market is on the 4th May 2019

Shane Nicholson & Kelly Menhennett - 4th May

The Barn at Wombat Flat

Find out more about this fabulous music venue and the event for May 4th, Great atmosphere and great entertainment,

Final tickets going fast - grab them while you can.

Looking for a Mother's Day Gift - Consider Local

Mother's Day is looming, only a week away!!!

Why not check out our local shops first, buying local makes sense for you and your community.

Featuring here is Kristy from Karpinski's General Store & Newsagency showing off some of the goodies you might find. Don't forget, also, many Mum's are very practical and you might make here day with adding a book or magazine to what you give her.

INFO HERE!

One casualty of the election date has been that the Opera at Anlaby Station has been Cancelled due to the election day timing. It is sad that they had to do that, but also realistic. Andrew Morphett co-owner of Anlaby said they will try have the Opera later on.

Planning Underway for Eudunda 150th Next Meeting 14th May

The Eudunda Community, Business and Tourism Committee (ECBAT) is calling for interested people  to join with the current Sub Committee to plan for the Eudunda's 150th Year of European Settlement.

A small group of enthusiastic people have attended several meetings and the third meeting is planned for the 14th May 2019 at the Light Hotel, Bruce Street Eudunda at 7pm.

'Brainstorming' session Very Fruitful

The first two meetings of 'brainstorming' session and then pruning, modifying and adapting ideas has been very productive.

There are currently 4 major themes which will run over a a bit more than a week of celebrations..
  • EUDUNDA 150th CELEBRATIONS - Currently suggested as Fri 6th Nov – Sun 15th Nov
  • 123rd Eudunda Show - Sun 8th Nov 2020
  • 75th Anniversary of the end of World War II – Remembrance Day - Wed  11th Nov 2020
  • Colin Thiele’s 100th Birthday - Actual day Mon 16th Nov 2020
With the thoughts of Street Parade, Art Exhibitions and Competitions which may go for the whole week, Music and combined with the always successful Eudunda Show there should be plenty of things to draw people to the district and for our local people to enjoy.

We are keen to see more people join the main organizing committee, and will be in contact with Clubs, Organisations and Businesses for those who may have missed hearing about the plans. We hope that everyone will be happy to join in with the preparations, that all will have some participation and that all will enjoy the event.

Already we have had several artists keen to support the event in various way. Eudunda usually puts on a great art exhibition - previously for SALA events and other special occasions so we look forward to see what the Art Community can do in 2020.

We wish to thank Management and Staff at the Eudunda Hotel for looking after us for food and drinks during the night.

Dust Storm Over Eudunda

With recent rains we hope scenes like this magnificent shot of a dust storm engulfing the town of Eudunda will be a scene from the Past. Time will tell, as the region is so dry we need a lot more steady rain to help. that's to Robyn for giving permission to use this photo.

HAVE WE SEEN THE END OF DUST STORMS THIS YEAR?

New Community Notice Board in Place

For a long time Eudunda has had to be without a community notice board, and the Eudunda Community, Business and Tourism Committee (ECBAT) had been negotiation for a site, as well as seeking funding to replace the last one.
Funding from Council Ward Grant finally saw this happen and the new board put in place in March.

This board is a nice big size, even having hydraulic lifters to hold the glass up while putting items in,  and we were astonished to see that it is already full of notices, so we are pretty sure this was money well spent on the community.

If you wish to place something on the board, ask at the Heritage Gallery, Post Office or Peter Herriman.

Photo: Trevor Mathews & Peter Herriman put the new notice board in place, thanks to Luke Herriman who was also helping put it up.
