Healthwatch Plymouth are Looking for your Opinions

Healthwatch have launched two surveys around the NHS 10 Year Long Term Plan and are consulting the public around their wishes for services in the future. 

One will gather general views,while the second will examine conditions, such as Cancer, Heart & Lung Disease, Mental Health, Dementia, and Long Term Conditions such as Arthritis and Diabetes.

Meeting Centre Workshop - The Association of Dementia Studies

The Moments Hub in New George Street will be hosting a workshop facilitated by the Association for Dementia Studies and the University of Worcester on Wednesday 8th of May (1pm - 4:45pm).

The overall aim of the workshop is to look at the setting up of Meeting Centres in local communities to support people directly affected by dementia.

Argyle Community Trust - New Extra Time Hub Project

On the 17th of April, Argyle Community Trust will be launching a new Extra Time Hub project which will provide activities for retired and semi-retired people to socialise, met new people and try new activities retired and semi-retired people.

Dementia Action Week 2019

2019's Dementia Action Week will commence from Monday the 20th to Sunday the 26th of May. This year's theme revolves around inclusion as living with dementia can make people feel cut off from their friends and community, leading to them feeling alone.

Mental Health Awareness Week 2019

This year's Mental Health Awareness Week will commence between 13th and the 19th of May. The theme for 2019 is body image - how we think and feel about our bodies.

    • Focus: Workforce Development / Children and Young People Mental Health
  • Tuesday 16th July - 9:30am
    • Focus: Trauma Informed Practice / Integral Care Partnership
  • Thursday 19th September - 1:00pm
    • Focus: TBC
  • Tuesday 19th November - 9:30am
    • Focus: TBC

Heads Count Creative Life Event #3

Coinciding with Mental Health Awareness Week (Monday 13 to Sunday 19 May 2019), Heads Count will be hosting their third Creative Life Event on the 17th May between 11:00am and 15:00pm.

There will be exhibitors at the event, however this is an open event and any group or person from the community who may use, or would like to use creativity, to sustain their wellbeing is welcome to come along to showcase and inspire or be inspired.
