Hotel Registration Now Open
This year’s Conference is being held at the spectacular Delta Hotels by Marriott Grand Okanagan Resort (phew – that’s a mouthful). A block of rooms is available for a great $219/night. Days before or after the conference are already almost sold out at this rate. Rooms are limited and must be booked by April 19th to ensure this rate.
There is also a free bookable hotel shuttle to/from the airport.
Conference Registration Open
This year, the Spring Conference: Airports, Aviation, Aerospace is also hosted by NAV CANADA’s Area Operations Consultative Meeting (AOCM). The Conference starts Sunday night with the Celebrating Scholarship welcoming reception on the hotel patio overlooking the lake.
Monday morning is the AOCM with both National and Regional topics covered. Lunch kicks off the Spring Conference, with Sam Samaddar from Kelowna Airport as keynote. The afternoon starts with a future look panel, featuring Craig Richmond, CEO of YVR, Solomon Wong, CEO InterVistas, and Ian Matheson, CEO of 3BP. There is then the popular panel of national organizations’ leaders. The day closes out with BCAC’s moderately entertaining AGM followed by the Airports Committee AGM. To reward ourselves, dinner is at the Kelowna Yacht Club, right next door. KF Aerospace provides the dinner speaker.
Tuesday starts with a platinum panel on tackling the Human Resources crisis. Filling out both days are presentations on ICAO charges, ACAP and BCAAP revisited, multi-modal ground access, and Sustainable Tourism with Glenn Mandziuk, CEO of the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association leading the way.
And, as always, there will be plenty of time for networking. It’s an important part of the program.
