Doctoral candidate Alex Challenger received the 2019 Graduate Student Research and Creativity Award from the Graduate School at Florida State University, in recognition of her outstanding research.

After the devastating fire at the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris this week, Professor Kyle Killian lent his expertise to the public discussion in local news. In an interview with WCTV, Killian provided insight into what will be necessary to repair the Cathedral in the coming years.

Power in the Panhandle: Photographing the Aftermath of Hurricane Michael in Marianna and Panama City, is an exhibition of photographs created by students at Lively Technical College and curated by FSU Art History graduate students. Opening reception Tuesday at the Gallery for Innovation and the Arts in the R.A. Gray Building, Tallahassee, 4–6 pm.

This spring the undergraduate Museum Object class curated "Treasured Cloth: Women’s Art of Polynesia," an exhibition exploring the art, history, and culture of Polynesian textiles created by Samoan and Tongan women. On Friday, April 19, the student curators will lead an in-depth, guided tour of the exhibition.

Art History graduate students in Dr. Kristin Dowell’s Global Indigenous Cinema course have curated a film showcase that celebrates Indigenous women filmmakers from around the world whose vibrant films feature stories of identity, community and resilience.

Art History undergraduate and graduate students were honored for their academic achievements and awards at the 2019 CFA Celebrate! Awards Ceremony in early April. Juan Barceló-González and Professor Kyle Killian received the CFA Outstanding Staff and Faculty Awards for Art History.
