Holidays are even more fun when you get creative with festive DIY projects. Easter is a great holiday for this to get you and your entire family in the mood for spring. We’ve put together five super simple, yet very creative Easter DIY projects that will get into the spirit of the holiday. Happy Easter, we hope you enjoy these chic and fun tutorials!
Bunny Napkin Fold
Fold a napkin into a triangle, making sure the corners are even. Roll the point upward into the long side, then fold it in the middle into a U-shape with the corners at the top creating bunny ears. Rest an egg inside at the base of the fold and tie a ribbon or string at the top of the egg to hold the napkin around it. Draw a bunny face on the egg and voila, you have an adorable Easter bunny for a place setting!
Bunny Soap
Purchase a pan with bunny-shaped molds and a soap base of your choice. Cut the soap base into cubes, place them in a large microwavable bowl, and melt the soap by stirring it. Stir in an essential oil (lemon, orange, and lavender are perfect for spring) to give it a nice scent and mix in 1-2 drops of food coloring in a pastel color. Pour the soap mixture into the bunny molds, then allow it to set for a few hours before removing them for use.
Distressed Mason Jars
Paint a clean mason jar with two coats of chalk paint in a neutral or pastel color, such as blush pink, seafoam green, robin’s egg blue, white, or grey. Let the paint dry completely between each coat. Then, distress the dried paint with a piece of sandpaper. Go along the rim, raised edges, text, and logo to bring out the design and make it look vintage. To finish it off, fill it with some pretty flowers. Do 3 or 5 mason jars in different colors for a charming centerpiece or general décor.
Chalkboard Eggs
Paint some eggs with black chalk paint, then customize them by writing on them with chalk. You can write your guests’ names on them to serve as place cards or just have fun drawing Easter-related messages and doodles on them. This is super simple and a lot of fun for kids and adults alike!
Easter Bunny Goodie Bags
Create bunny ears on a small paper bag by cutting a deep V-shape at the top of the bag. Fill your bag with Easter treats or gifts of your choice, then tie the bag at the base of the ears with pretty twine, yarn, or string and include a tag with the recipient’s name (or simply “Happy Easter!”). Finally, add a white or colorful pom-pom toward the bottom of the bag to create a cute little bunny tail.
Easter Sunday means baskets filled with chocolate bunnies, jelly beans, and marshmallow chicks. And for many of us, the holiday wouldn’t be the same without an Easter egg hunt. This classic Easter activity is a great way to make memories with family and friends.

If you’re hosting this year’s Easter egg hunt, you may have concerns about safety. We’ve put together these seven safety tips to help you keep everyone safe and healthy during your hunt. (Read more)
A mortgage is probably the largest debt you’ll ever have, and paying it off is a significant achievement. But credit bureaus like Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion might not be as thrilled.

“Paying off any debt will certainly affect your credit score, and your mortgage is no exception,” says Michael Mesa, branch manager and certified mortgage planning specialist at Fairway Independent Mortgage Corp in Lacey, WA.

Depending on various factors, this act of financial responsibility could increase or decrease your credit score. (Read more)

Easter Egg Cookie Dough Truffles

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of butter room temperature (see note)
  • 3/4 cups packed brown sugar
  • 2 cups all purpose flour see note
  • 2 tsps vanilla extract
  • 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips
  • pink blue, purple, and white candy melts

Instructions

  • In the bowl of a large stand mixer, cream the butter and the brown sugar until light and fluffy, about two minutes. Beat in the vanilla.
  • Slowly add the flour, scraping down the sides as necessary.
  • With the mixer still running, slowly add in the sweetened condensed milk. You may need to stop the mixer periodically to scrape down the sides. (DO NOT SCRAPE THE CAN WITH A SPATULA)
  • Once it is fully combined, stir in the chocolate chips.
  • Form the dough into one inch balls, and then shape into eggs. Place on a wax paper lined pan and cover loosely with plastic wrap. Refrigerate overnight.
  • Melt the candy melts according to the directions on the bag. Keeping the truffles in the refrigerator, and removing only three or four at a time, dip them in the candy melts one at a time with a fork. Gently tap off any excess chocolate and let dry on wax paper.

Notes

The butter should be soft, but not at all melted. You should be able to push your finger into it but not all the way through the stick. To achieve room temperature butter quickly, cut up the butter in one inch pieces and leave out on the counter for a half hour. Please note: To prevent risk of e. coli, spread the flour on a baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 5 minutes. Allow to cool and then proceed to use in this recipe.
