A Very Happy Spring to All!

We are back from our winter hiatus and planning is in full swing for the 7th Annual Warrior Beach Week set to take place in Bethany Beach, Delaware from 9/3-9/8, 2019!!
  • 32 Warrior Families and Caregivers will participate
  • Welcome Home Motorcade - Friday September 6, transporting Warrior Families from Sea Colony to Freeman Stage at Bayside
  • Freeman Stage Concert in honor of the VIFs (Very Important Families) on Friday night, September 6th.

As always, we're thrilled to have your continued support - this event would not be possible without the ongoing interest and participation from the local and surrounding communities!

Our Mission:
To organize and facilitate a beach week event for our wounded soldiers and their families as a means of showing our appreciation for their service and sacrifice. It is our hope that such a community-based gesture of support will be comforting and help ease their transition back into civilian life.

2019 Quilts of Valor

The Serendipity Quilt Shop in Dagsboro, DE will once again create and donate Quilts of Valor to the 2019 OSTD wounded veterans who have not already received one. This is an opportunity to GET INVOLVED and HELP create these one of a kind patriotic Quilts! There are two sew days this year – June 29th and Sept 28th. Don’t let the term sew day scare you away --- no need to know how to sew! All are welcome, men and women.

Get in on the FUN and PRIDE in joining the volunteers producing QUILTS OF VALOR! Feel free to join in at the Serendipity Shop located 31821 Cannon Street, Dagsboro, Delaware. No need to call – just show up between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. --  on June 29th and Sept 28th.

Feel Proud - Our Combined Communities Unite and Focus To Honor Brave Americans and Their Families

At Operation SEAS The Day, our Community has been rewarded beyond our Warrior Beach week. Bonding within families and between families is a bonus to all of us as these Heroes continue the healing process. Here are a few notes received by those who participated in 2018.

  • “As wounded Warrior life is not easy anymore not that it really ever was but having to learn so many things you learn as a child and start your life over …. takes an even more toll then physical or mental wounds do…. This week allows us the wounded warriors and families the opportunity to have no worries, no judgment but focus on our families and one on one time with those we love the most. And be around other families and warriors that relate to what is going on in our daily lives.”
  • “Caregivers get a unique opportunity to talk, listen, share and pass on pertinent information on how to cope and help themselves and their warrior family to better understand their struggles. Without this week a lot would never get this opportunity.”
  • “Most of us arrive Tuesdays as strangers from all different areas with different stories… we left there Sunday with a family so big and so kind and caring that we love so much, all our texts and phone calls and emails are ending with love you guys … THANK YOU EVERYONE!!”
  • “… The outpouring of support and generosity from all the people and businesses was simply amazing. We have never been to a place where there are such outward expressions of patriotism and thankfulness It was extremely humbling and emotionally rewarding for us.”
  • “This past year of medical rehabilitation has been very hard on our family. The stressors of extreme trauma and too many hospital nights at Walter Reed really strained our marriage and our family dynamics. By allowing us to participate in OSTD, you guys really gave us a much-needed break from daily life … We got to spend time together … and strengthen our relationship.”
  • “(Name removed) really enjoyed meeting other spouses, kids and OSTD volunteers. She was touched by everyone’s dedication, generosity and thoughtfulness."
