Have you ever had one of those days? You know the day I’m talking about, not a minor inconvenience - but a really, really bad day.

The day your spouse asked for a divorce. The day the doctor said you have cancer or need open heart surgery. The day you discover your child will have to live with a condition for the rest of their lives. The day you discover that your closest friend betrayed you in a horrible way.

One of those days where everything that you thought you knew is no longer true. Have you ever had one of THOSE days?

Have you ever looked back on one of those days and thought how glad you were that you experienced that day because now you see how it changed your life?

The wait between THAT day and the day that you are thankful for having been through it seems like forever sometimes. Waiting on a surgery, waiting on the results of the last scan, waiting to see if the birth parents will sign the paperwork, watching your child hurt.

Waiting is an eternity when everything is upside down. The early followers of Jesus had a weekend like this. They watched their friend, Rabbi, and supposed Savior die a horrible death. Everything that they knew was shaken. But the wait ended on Sunday when He rose.

If we believe in Sunday, it makes all the difference in how we wait and in how we interact with everyone. When one of those days happen it isn’t the end of our existence, it is just a change in how we will view the rest of our journey on Earth. When we believe in Sunday, we just love everyone that we come in contact with. We don’t have to agree with them, but we sure don’t have to argue with them. Embrace those Jesus would embrace, this means to listen, feed, clothe, visit, encourage, and most importantly to love.

Live life knowing that Sunday is coming. That should fill us with excitement and hope. The wait will come to an end because He is no longer dead and we don’t have to be either. We can handle today because Sunday is coming.
