Prairie Burn

Thanks to a grant from the Sauk River Watershed District and support from our school district, we are able to burn our prairie again this spring.  We will not have much notice because the timing relies on specific weather conditions.  We will let families know when we will burn at the soonest possible opportunity.

Used Book Fair

Check your bookshelves, under the beds, and in the closets! Have some gently used books for kids of all ages that haven't been read in a while? Donations now being accepted in the Kennedy Community School office for our Used Book Fair in May.  It will run from May 21-23.  

Middle School Trimester 3 Report Cards

To allow our teachers to give finals, we will not send paper copies of trimester three report cards home with students.  Report cards will be available to view through the Skyward Family Portal beginning June 14.  

Impact Testing

We will conduct Impact Testing with students in grades 7-8 on May 14.  This test assesses cognitive functioning to establish a baseline for students in case they sustain concussions while playing sports at school.  Please click HERE to read about the program.

Enrollment 2019-2020

We have closed Kennedy to out of district transfers and open enrollment for all grades except K and 3 for the 2019-2020 based on projected class sizes.  As our enrollment fluctuates, these closures may be adjusted.  Please know that we always accept students moving into our attendance area.

End of Year Carnival

On Friday, May 31st, we will be hosting our annual outdoor Kennedy Carnival Fun Day for Kindergarten-5th grade. We will need over thirty volunteers to help set up, supervise, and take down the simple activity stations that make up our carnival.  You would need to be available from 11:45-1:45 and have a current background check with our school district. Graduation is fast approaching here at Kennedy! We had to adjust our end of year schedule because of the severe weather make-up day.  This year, the 8th graders will be going bowling on May 30 during the school day.  Graduation will take place on May 31 at 8:00 am.

8th grade students will be dismissed to their families after the graduation reception which will end at approximately 9:45. Please sign your child out of school with Ms. Maurer following graduation.  If you are not going to be in attendance to sign your child out of school on May 31, please send a note to Ms. Maurer ahead of time.
