New Adult Sunday School Class
Join us this Sunday for the adult Sunday school class this week where Brian Roberg will discuss how the structures and forms of communication shape our interactions and our understanding of the world, with particular attention to smartphones and video games. Brian will work to help us see the challenges and opportunities for building God’s Kingdom.

Encouraging Worship
New Process for Entering the Sanctuary
Once the worship service has begun, and in order to allow for a more reverent and undisturbed quiet time for those already seated in the sanctuary, the ushers will ask anyone outside the sanctuary to refrain from entering during the brief time after the sanctuary doors are closed at the beginning of each service at 8:30 AM and 11:15 AM. At the announcement of the first song, all worshipers will be ushered in to the Sanctuary and our ushers will be available to help you find seating as needed. We appreciate your help as we work to make our service more encouraging for worship.

Women’s Ministry Brunch
May 11
Hello Oakwood Women! You are invited to a brunch on Saturday, May 11 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Oakwood. Come, celebrate a year of God’s faithfulness to women at Oakwood and be encouraged for the year ahead. Sandy Kline will be sharing her story of God’s love through her cancer diagnosis and treatment. The theme of the brunch is “Abounding in Love,” in light of Paul’s exhortation, " And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.” Philippians 1:9-11. Prayer for Our West Africa Team

Please remember to pray for our team visiting the missions work in West Africa - Ron Nargi, John Ewing, and Dan Kiehl. They flew there last Saturday on Apr. 27 and will return on Monday, May 6. Please pray for their safety and health, and for their time there to be effective for learning about the ministry and forming relationships which will strengthen our partnership with that Kingdom work. Oakwood Softball

Softball has started and we need players! If you like fun and fellowship, come out and play! We have a game every Monday night at 6:30 PM. The Library is Back!
Books you can borrow
The library is back on the shelves. Much has been purged. The books are not well organized, but are available. Circulation is self serve and there are 3X5 cards in a box to use when you sign out a book. Simply leave your contact info, the name of the borrowed item and the date you took it. Please return it when finished, though more than a few months is kind of long. Notice that Youth and Young Adult books are shelved mostly on the far left book case, plus one shelf in the middle. Let Gretchen Denniston know if you want to have the library acquire something. She has a copy of C S Lewis' Narnia series all in one volume (British version) at the request of an individual.
