Museum Releases...
Prestigious Back Vintages
Barbaresco and Barolo

Nebbiolo - a variety which demands time in bottle - is rarely in better form than when it hails from its spiritual home in Piedmonte, Italy. Aged Barbaresco and Barolo is a treat often sought but rarely encountered. We were thrilled to take on these museum releases of Riserva wines from Produttori del Barbaresco's top crus, plus Barolo from famed producers Renato Ratti and G.D. Vajra. These were brought to Australia in refrigerated containers when the producers released the wines, held back by distributors and stored in climate controlled wine warehouses in Melbourne.

Extremely limited.
Perfect cellaring guaranteed.
All prime vintages in their drinking window.

Produttori del Barbaresco
Moccagatta Riserva 2004

"Everything one wants from a wine at this stage in its life."
"The aromatics are just beginning to show some signs of maturity, but there is plenty of brightness, tannin and overall intensity to allow the wine to drink well for another 15-20 years, and likely longer. Sweet dried cherries, tobacco, mint and sage are some of the notes that open up in the glass." - Antonio Galloni, 2016

Produttori del Barbaresco
Montefico Riserva 2005

"A wine of first-class pedigree. This is an exceptional effort from the Produttori!"
"The 2005 Barbaresco Riserva Montefico is simply beautiful in the way it combines elements of florality and structure, which makes it one of the more complex, multi-faceted wines in 2005. Sweet roses blossom on the palate, followed by succulent ripe raspberries, mint and baking spices. Estimated maturity 2015-2030
." - Robert Parker, 2009

Normally $135
Special Price $119

Produttori del Barbaresco
Ovello Riserva 2009

"It is beautiful now and promises an exciting evolution ahead."
"The 2009 Barbaresco Riserva Ovello is a wine of straightforward harmony and genuine richness. The bouquet offers dark fruit, licorice, spice and tobacco. The Ovello cru shows an impressive level of overall opulence. In fact, both the Ovello and the Pajè vineyards have cooler conditions that help them excel in warm vintages like 2009. Estimated maturity 2017-2030
." - Wine Advocate, 2015

Normally $135
Special Price $124

Renato Ratti Rocche Barolo 2009
"A big Barolo, but at the same time, the tannins are polished and silky."
"Sweet floral notes, spices and dried flowers all add intrigue, but at the end of the day, the 2009 Rocche is a wine built on a solid core of fruit supported by remarkably polished tannins that are the hallmark of this great site
." - Antonio Galloni, 2013

"Lifted dark fruit and lots of well handled oak. Quite a different Rocche from the rest of the flight. Still very young with bags of grainy tannins. Modernist but well done. Estimated maturity 2018-2030." - Jancis Robinson

G.D. Vajra Ravera Barolo 2012 MAGNUM
"One of the real knock-out wines of the vintage. 96 Points."
"Striking aromatics, vivid, finely sculpted fruit and exceptional balance. Dark red and purplish-hued fruits, lavender, rose petal, mint and hard candy are pushed forward in a sweet, impeccable Barolo that satisfies all the senses. Deep, exquisitely layered and powerful, the 2012 Ravera is shaping up to be a real gem." - Antonio Galloni, 2016

The longevity of a Magnum of quality Barolo is almost incalculable. Enjoy to 2050+.
