If you could only IMAGINE the joy in 231 children at Free 2 Be Academy. They thank God for all the sponsors who make free 2 be academy available for them to learn. They pray for you and say a big thank you too.
Did you IMAGINE that our new school kitchen could look so good? Thanks to all of you who gave to help us rebuild the kitchen in November last year, ....ta darrrr...here is the new kitchen, complete with a sink and running water, 2 fuel saving cookers, a store room for the food and one very happy cook!!
You cannot IMAGINE the impact the phones you send to us, have on those who receive them. This is also a good opportunity to introduce Brian (left) Xaviour (centre) and Sammy (right). These 3 young men are coordinating different areas of Free 2 Be for us in Kenya. The phones make their jobs a lot easier and enable them to keep in touch with us in the UK, reporting back on the progress of the projects they are overseeing. Xaviour is our sponsor coordinator, he is the one who organises the children to write to you when you send them a letter. He needed a good phone to take photos for you.
PLEASE keep sending us your used phones, (preferably unlocked and with a charger) these guys only ever receive a used phone so they often fail in some way after a while leaving them "phoneless" once again.
Sammy and Brian were thrilled to receive Bibles you had sent, they travelled in the villages with us ministering to local people. They have compassionate hearts to show God's love to those who wanted to receive. Did you IMAGINE the transformation of lives and the ripple effect it would have when you sponsored one of our youth through secondary school for just £10 per month for 4 years???
Brian and Sammy are just two success stories resulting from your faithfulness to sponsor youth in our churches at a local secondary school. They are passionate about serving God in their community and eager to begin implementing the dreams they believe God has given them to bring youth to the training college and to faith. We believe these guys are the future of free 2 be in Chemwa village and we celebrate them being with us. Sammy was elected as the secretary of Free 2 Be Charity in Kenya recently; he is doing a great job. Brian is doing his placement for the Project Management course he is on, at f2b academy and looking after the Conqueror's House. There is a distance of about 5 miles between them so he's keeping really fit as he has no means of transport!! I believe £50 would buy him a bicycle and make his job a lot easier!!!
We had the absolute joy of teaming up with Alice from Days For Girls. Alice travelled up from Nakuru and gave a fabulous presentation to all of our girls aged 10 and over. Teaching them about health, hygiene and menstruation. Days For Girls provided 40 of our girls at Free 2 Be with a kit bag of reusable sanitary pads, pants, etc, which gives them complete sanitary protection for up to 3 years.
Each kit costs 1,000 Kenyan shillings (£8). IMAGINE being able to solve a girls menstrual problem for 3 whole years for just £8!!!!!
A representative from Barclays Bank in Kenya also attended the presentation and have volunteered to pay for 20 of the kits. We still need to pay Alice at Days For Girls for the other 20 kits, This is a fantastic opportunity for all those of you who have been asking how you can help with sanitary protection for girls in Kenya. Many girls are missing one week of school EVERY month because they have no means of sanitary protection.
Naomi (photo bottom right above) has featured a lot in our newsletters, she came to f2b academy in 2013 infested with Jiggers, she has 2 brothers and was caring for them after their father died and mum abandoned them (as she was mentally incapable of looking after them.) Naomi was enthralled by Alice's presentation recently and so thankful for the practical help she received. She asked many relevant questions and dreams of running an enterprise for Days For Girls in the near future for the Bungoma area. She would be involved in raising funds to provide the kits for girls and presenting the health, hygiene and menstruation demonstrations.

You can provide kits for our girls by sending donations to the Free 2 Be Special account Charity Reg No: 1170658

IMAGINE changing google maps!!
We thought you might like to see how Free 2 Be has changed the face of Khaoya and Chemwa villages. These photos were taken recently from google maps. The school (left) shows even the most recent classrooms, office and store built late in 2018. The college site is on the right.

Lewis is a new member of our Kenyan charity and has a heart to do Jigger campaigns. As you can see he has been working in the community already; relieving children and adults of these blood-sucking maggots which live beneath the skin. As many of you will remember we have had the distress of dealing with Jigger infested children in the past. We will hold a jiggers campaign in the area surrounding F2B Academy on our next visit. If you would like to play a part in evicting these horrendous parasites without getting your gloves on!!! please use the charity account listed above. IMAGINE if 30 people gave just £10 we could hold a Jigger campaign and remove these pararsites from 100 people!!
We shared with you how two of our faithful teachers are living at the school and asked if you wanted to help. As you can see as soon as the money arrived we got to work and the teachers are very happy with their new accommodation. You don't have to IMAGINE Christabel's smiles of of thankfulness, you can see her here. (Also receiving a phone)
IMAGINE waiting over 6 years for the Title Deed for the land our College and Conqueror's House was built on!!
As you can see Pastor Julius and Kate were very happy to have it safely in their hands.
Free 2 Be sports team ready to go out and do trials, competing with other local schools.
IMAGINE if we had a school bus to take the F2B team to the trials, they walked 5 km each way to take part.
2019 Daycare class have settled in so well at free 2 be academy, their teacher Lydia was educated by a free 2 be sponsor through secondary school and is now being trained as a teacher through our teacher sponsorship program. It is wonderful to see one changed life now changing more lives through education. IMAGINE being able to change these precious live so easily with £5, £10 or £20 per month.
As you can see children who have sponsors thoroughly enjoy receiving letters and sending brightly coloured responses.

I can't IMAGINE who is happier the sponsored children or the sponsors when they receive the beautiful letters back from their child. It is such a privilige to see these children growing up knowing they are loved and cared for by someone abroad, some of them have had unimaginable lives and appreciate their sponsor more than you will ever know. If you would like to sponsor a child for £5, £10 or £20 a month please get in touch with Kate using the details below.
Hello I am Irene, I am 16 years old and have a difficult time at home. Can you IMAGINE sponsoring me? I am in standard 8 at free 2 be academy. I will sit exams in October this year and I'm working hard so I do well. I hope free 2 be will have a secondary school for me to attend in January 2020. God bless you, Irene.
IMAGINE having fun and games with these precious kids!!

Love and God bless you all until next time :)
