A Tough Time for Oregon's Wolves

MAY 2019

Hello wolf lovers!

In Oregon, when it rains, it pours. Several threats are facing our beloved Oregon wolves - and all at the same time. They need your voice now more than ever, so please take as many of the actions below as you can!
FIRST, if you're in the Portland area, come on out on MONDAY MAY 6, to rally in support of our wolves and oppose the Trump administration's plan to remove Endangered Species protections from gray wolves across the lower 48! It's going to be a great event. More info here
SECOND, contact your Oregon state senator and let him or her know your thoughts on whether a big-game trophy hunter is the best choice to serve on the state fish and wildlife commission. Speak up before May 8, when the Senate Rules Committee will vote on the nominees. This commission makes most of the state rules on wolf management, and will have full control over how wolves are managed in Oregon if the Trump administration gets its way and gray wolves lose endangered species protections across the country.
NEXT, call Governor Kate Brown and also let her know your thoughts on her nominations to the state Fish and Wildlife Commission. The majority of those she has nominated are totally unsuited to manage state wildlife policy, and that includes making the most important decisions about how wolves will be managed in Oregon. Do you feel comfortable letting a big-game trophy hunter make decisions about whether and how wolves should be hunted in Oregon? Neither do we. Let Governor Brown know she has made a big mistake here, and Oregonians won't stand for it. Call her at (503) 378-4582 and ask her to withdraw her list of candidates for the Fish and Wildlife Commission.
FINALLY, speak out against the Trump administration's plan to remove Endangered Species protections from gray wolves across the nation. If the plan is finalized, wolves across Oregon will lose any protection against poor state management. Please let the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service know by May 14 that you believe gray wolves should stay protected under the Endangered Species Act!
SPEAK OUT!
Last but not least, THANK YOU for all you do for wolves. When you speak, people listen.

Your voice matters; keep on howling!
