With April's showers continuing on this week, we are waiting (im)patiently for those May flowers.
I am still greeting the day in wool socks and walking the dogs wearing fingerless mitts.
But this time of year I slowing transitioning into knitting lighter weight projects,
such as this fabulous shawl that I am working on. Knit with Brown Sheep Handpainted Lanaloft Sport and Cascade 220 Sport, this is an easy to remember FREE pattern:

When May arrives, all the sheep in my neighborhood get their annual haircut,

...and (at right) after!

and my interest turns to making yarn.
I just LOVE getting my hands into fleece again!!!!!!!!!!

But first, you need to know how to use a spinning wheel or drop spindle.
This spring and summer Countrywool will offer a series of 3 classes for spinners.
First off, we'll get your wheel tuned up and solidify the basics,
or learn them, on May 19.
And, as you check out the June and July spinning classes,
I have two announcements to make....
1... I have JUST scheduled a spinning retreat NEXT SPRING at WINTER CLOVE INN;
our favorite place to relax for a weekend.
2...
Countrywool has been the recipient of 3 grease fleeces,
and will be handing them over FREE at the spinning class below .
(Once you register for the class, come by for your free fleece and I'll tell you how to wash/card enough of it for class.)

Materials needed for this class:
•    spinning wheel or drop spindle
•    5 oz clean wool roving or top
•    (2 spinning wheels are available to rent for $20 by calling 828-4554. All items will be available for purchase: drop spindle: $25-30; wool top: $10.00
