Did you know that ... ?

  • In 2016, 4.3 million people in the US were working from home for a minimum of half their work time
  • In 2016, 1 in 6 individuals working from home report feelings of mental health issues in a week long period in relation to anxiety, stress or depression.
  • Workplace wellness initiatives are statistically significantly linked with a reduction in chronic healthcare problems (David Yodaiken, 2019)
  • Researchers have found that a face-to-face request can be as effective as sending 34 email requests, meaning you might be more productive when you can pop over to a co-worker’s desk and ask in person for whatever you need.

"Collaboration in Indo-European Remote Teams" - presented by Isabelle Demangeat

A free Nomadic IBP meet the expert on collaboration in Indo-European remote teams.

Is it possible to collaborate efficiently with 7000Km (4500miles) in between?

"Nowadays, cooperation with Western colleagues is daily life.“
"Nowadays,  cooperation with Indian colleagues is daily life. "
And this daily life is not always easy. Not for either side.

It is possible to make collaboration successful. How?

What are best practices for Indian and Non-Indian team members who depend on digital media for their achievements?

Together we’ll explore how cross-continental teams can be supported for a smooth and fruitful cooperation.

How they can benefit from well mastered digital tools, enhance the quality of their communication for a better collaboration and match synchronous and a-synchronous media in a smart way.

Virtual team member loyalty Or: of how many teams are you a member?

Leading a remote team is complex enough: developing a group of people who rarely meet F2F, using communication technology, dealing with cultural diversity and time-zone differences.

An extra layer of complexity is the fact that may virtual team members are a member of multiple teams. 63% work on 1-3 teams; 22% work on at least 4 virtual teams.

How do you make people feel part of a (remote) team when their primary loyalty sits with the ‘home team’?

‘We are competing with non-virtual demands. People have multiple projects, some of which are local. They have different line management’

‘Team members get conflicting instructions from local line management. Administrative barriers like work contracts and intra company work orders. These are painful to organize’
