The School of Business Administration hosted an Open House to unveil alumni-funded upgrades to two atriums in Education & Business Hall, including a new video wall and LED ticker display, furniture, and a refurbished tutoring center.
After a nation-wide search, Brandon Leimbach, director of development for the Buff Club, the fundraising arm of the University of Colorado Athletics in Boulder, has been named the new Skyhawks athletic director.
The Mathematics Department hosted more than 100 mathematicians for the Mathematical Association of America, Rocky Mountain Section Meeting, in April.
Five students and their faculty mentor, presented their paleo-wetland research at the American Association of Geographers conference in Washington, D.C., in April. The research is also published in the journal Metamorphosis.
This year's Boston Marathon included two FLCers: Associate Professor of Biology Steven Fenster and Assistant Professor of Mathematics Matthew Welz, who finished with times of 2:55:45 and 3:09:27.

The Durango Herald profiled five FLC graduates from a range of disciplines headed off for careers and further studies.
New and planned services, like the Black Student Union -- which was recently named Registered Student Organization of the Year -- are working to fill a void that caused FLC to rank low among state schools for support of black students.
Registration opens May 5 for the Durango Fall Blaze Bicycle Tour, a fundraiser on Sept. 28 for the Skyhawks cycling team featuring fully supported road tours in the San Juan Mountains of 37, 60 and 100 miles.
Mathematics major and Skyhawks soccer standout Coleman Kane was named to the Colorado's Future Educator Honor Roll by the Colorado Department of Higher Education.
