MESSAGE FROM THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY

The Logan County Democratic Party is looking to make a donation to the Logan County Fair for the construction of the new show arena at the fairgrounds. The party is looking to raise $500 for the donation, as this amount will put the party name on a plaque in the show arena. If you would like to make a donation or for more information please contact Sue Neer.

The latest Adopt a Highway clean up had great participation and the eastbound side of the highway was completed. The westbound side was scheduled for May 18th at 8:45am meeting at the Park and Ride by WPKO. If you would like to help clean up please contact Barb Gant for more information.

May 6th is the final deadline for independents to file. If anybody knows someone that would like to run for office the following positions in the city of Bellefontaine are open Mayor, City Auditor, City Council President, all City Council seats. To appear on the ballot 50 Signatures are required for a city wide office 25 for a council ward position.

The meeting dates for October, November, and December fell on or near a holiday and have been moved to October 24th, November 21st, and December 19th instead of the dates previously provided.

Summer Picnic Spotlight

The Spring Picnic will be held on July 17th at 6:30pm. It will be held at Martha O’Connor’s residence. This is a great time to gather and discuss the upcoming fall election. We are looking to get as many attendees as possible so get the word out now!

The LCDP will be attending two upcoming parades, the Zanesfield Memorial Day Parade and the West Liberty Pride Parade. The Zanesfield Memorial Day parade line up is at 8:45am on May 27th, while the West Liberty Pride Parade is at 10am on June 22nd. All are welcome to attend and ride on our float in either parade!

The Logan County Grassroots Democrats will be hosting Rachel Coyle. Rachel will be giving a presentation on how things work at the Ohio State House. This presentation will be at the Logan County History Society in the Acusport room at 7pm June 17th.

Gov. Mike DeWine “celebrated” his first 100 days in office. ODP Chair David Pepper had this to say about the Governor's accomplishments -
“Normally announcements about an elected official’s first 100 days in office include a list of things the person is proud to highlight, but Mike DeWine didn’t include any such list. Perhaps that’s because his most significant act in his first 100 days was signing an unconstitutional abortion ban — the strictest in the nation, with no exceptions for rape or incest — that is now predictably heading toward another very expensive lawsuit for Ohio taxpayers.”
