Welcome back ICIJ reader!

A special note from us this week – we've added 18 new members to our global network of investigative reporters... so why not dedicate this email to them?

NEW ICIJ MEMBERS

The ICIJ model is pretty unique. Our small in-house newsroom and data team works with reporters around the world. And that network just got larger. Today, we welcomed 18 new members – importantly we've added members in countries we previously didn't have them (Tunisia, Ghana, Nepal, Senegal, Malta, and Panama.)

We’re pretty proud of the team we work with – these reporters are among the best investigative reporters in their country. So here’s a quick overview. For more info, you can read the story.

Caelainn Barr, United Kingdom, is editor of the Data Projects team at The Guardian in London.

Jacob Borg, Malta is a reporter with the Times of Malta.

Joaquín Castellón, Spain, is investigations and data editor at LaSexta TV.

Xavier Counasse, Belgium, works as a journalist and coordinator of investigative journalism at the Belgian newspaper Le Soir.

Momar Dieng, Senegal, is the director of the daily newspaper Tribune, the founder and director of the online website Impact.sn, and a founding member of the Norbert Zongo Cell for Investigative Journalists (Cenozo).

Kunda Dixit, Nepal is co-publisher at Himalmedia and chief editor of the weekly newspaper Nepali Times.

Emmanuel K. Dogbevi, Ghana, has been practicing journalism for almost three decades, setting up the investigative site Ghana Business News, and establishing the nonprofit organization NewsBridge Africa.

Octavio Enríquez, Nicaragua, is a journalist and one of the editors of La Prensa.

Shiva Gaunle, Nepal is the editor of the Center for Investigative Journalism (CIJ).

Malek Khadraoui, Tunisia, is journalist, trainer, and publication director of Inkyfada.

Boyoung Lim, Korea, is a reporter at the Korea Center for Investigative Journalism (KCIJ) – Newstapa.

Matthew Nippert, New Zealand, is an investigative reporter for the New Zealand Herald.

Cécile Prieur, France, is deputy editor at Le Monde.

Jet Schouten, The Netherlands, works as an investigative journalist for the Dutch Public Broadcasting Company AVROTROS.

Shyamlal Yadav, India, is a member of the investigative bureau of The Indian Express.

Michiko Yoshida, Japan, is a journalist with the Asahi Shimbun.

Mary Triny Zea, Panama, is a journalist in the investigation unit of La Prensa.

UNSTOPPABLE REPORTING

Now  meet another member, Monica Almeida from Ecuador, who was part of our Panama Papers team. (We are still celebrating the three-year anniversary, so get your tote bag here!) After their first stories were published, the Ecuadorian team were intimidated by the president and had to battle an earthquake. But that didn't stop their reporting. It's an amazing tale

Until next week!
