Redecorated and expanded room lineup

Brambleberry has changed its room lineup in response to guest demands. We now have four guest rooms to choose from, including two rooms that are some of the best budget-priced lodging options in the area.
The French Impressionist room is redesigned and newly decorated, offering quaint style and grace. This guest room is part of the original Brambleberry farm house. The room features a luxuriously draped canopy bed with queen Tempurpedic mattress, electric fireplace, TV and DVD player with local channels and two comfortable wingback chairs. The room features blue walls with French impressionist prints from Renoir and Monet. Private bath with an antique clawfoot tub (no shower). The lovely view west overlooks the creek and a wooded pasture.  Please note this bathroom has a sloping ceiling that is 5-foot-11 at its highest point. The French Impressionist room is only $100 or $130 with breakfast.
Thrifty travelers will love the Gamekeeper Room. This budget friendly guest room is a great value and exudes warm earth tones and charm. Our guest room has a private, attached bath and we serve a full breakfast. This guest room features a queen size bed with a half-tester canopy headboard. There is a TV /DVD player with local channels and for viewing movies. The window overlooks the front lawn and the sheep pasture. You can also see the gargoyle, which protects the house from the porch roof. The compact bathroom is tucked away under a low, sloping ceiling (5-foot-11 at the highest point) and has a shower/tub combination. The Gamekeeper Room rents for only $80 or $110 including breakfast.
These guest rooms join the luxurious English Country Room and Highland Room. To view the guest rooms or to book a reservation, visit http://www.brambleberrybandb.com/guest-rooms/

Scottish fiddler to highlight 6th anniversary celebration

To celebrate the winery's 6th anniversary, we are treating everyone to a free performance by Joanna Johnson, 2017 national Scottish fiddler champion, and her mother Deb Johnson who accompanies her on guitar. The ladies are fabulous!
Come join us from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 22 and enjoy original compositions of Celtic music written by Joanna. Wear medieval or Celtic costumes if you like! Performance will be held in the Grand Pavilion.
Don't forget to stop by the winery beforehand for tasting and to purchase bottles to enjoy during the performance. The winery will be open until 8 p.m. for this special event.

Spring garden work and winter damage

We sincerely hope that winter and snow are finally behind us. Now the spring garden work begins. We've been busy transplanting and planting in the Wedding Garden area around the Grand Pavilion, where it looks like most of the perennial plants survived the bitter winter. We're keeping our fingers crossed on our grapevines, but we suspect that the -40 and colder temperatures we had in February were too much for the vines.
Chris finally trimmed some branches off of a maple tree in the backyard, accomplishing one item on a honey-do list from several years back.
Our sign at the end of the road took a hit during some gusty winds earlier in April. The gusts broke two 4-by-4 posts in half. The sign should be back up again shortly with larger 4-by-6 posts.
