Dear Readers,

In the month of April, cybercrime has been the topic of focus. Cisco's Talos threat intelligence team has discovered that cybercrime groups are still active on social media platform Facebook, selling and trading phishing services and malware that amateurs can use to their advantage in carrying out malicious cyber attacks.

Researchers from the Kaspersky Lab have found that approximately 58,000 Android users had "stalkerware" installed on their phones back in 2018. Stalkerware essentially allows a cybercriminal to access personal information from a victim's phone, such as text messages, photos, location, and more.

This month, Microsoft had also revealed the shocking news that hackers had accessed user email accounts on Outlook, in which email messages, addresses, and folders were breached.

Below you will find a list of cybersecurity statistics that underscore the trends of cyberattacks in the previous and current year.

We hope you enjoy this month's issue!
