News from the Cape Elizabeth Education Foundation                      Spring - 2019

From the Executive Director

Each grant cycle, I am in awe of the innovative ideas that Cape faculty presents and the grants awarded this Spring are no different!  Representing faculty from diverse areas, these grants showcase projects that are introducing our students to 21st-century ideas and innovative approaches to education.  CEEF is so proud to help support Cape students, but we do it all with support from YOU!  Thanks to all of you for being part of the CEEF community, and to our graduating seniors, we will miss you and can't wait to see what you do next!

              - Liz McEvoy

Have you heard the buzz?

Now installed at CEHS are two beehives thanks to a Fall 2018 grant from Junior Helen Vaughn and CEHS' Joseph Wagner, both veteran beekeepers.  The hives were installed in early May 2019 and are attended by the fifteen member Beekeeping Club at CEHS. During the first year, the bees are busy populating their colony, collecting pollen and growing honeycomb!

Thank you for all you have done!

As the school year winds down, Cape Elizabeth is saying goodbye to some of its favorite faculty! We wish the following a happy retirement, and thank you for all your years of inspiring Cape students:

Richard Mullen                 Mark Pendarvis
Tom Lizotte                       Lisa Derman
Mort Soule

Congratulations and thank you to Senior Marianna Godfrey who has served as CEEF's Gail Rice Scholar for the past two years! Marianna worked as a liaison between CEEF and CEHS, providing updates and insight on school activities each month to our board. We will miss Marianna as she is off to Georgia Tech and wish her all the best!

and Board Member Ari Berman)
