Indiana Arts Commission Calls For InstaGrant Nominations
Yes, it's exactly what it sounds like! An instant grant. 11 finalists will be chosen to represent their region at the Indiana Arts Homecoming this October. Those selected will receive a scholarship covering registration and travel. In return, they will give a short presentation and conference attendees will vote on which organization goes home with the $2,500 InstaGrant!

Nominated organizations should be:

Arts or cultural organizations with a deliberate strategy to engage a previously unengaged group in an effort to increase Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, or Access to their artistic programs

Arts or cultural organizations that regularly engage and are inclusive of diverse groups of people. This organization understands their community and values, responds to, and reflects their needs and input

Artist Applications Sought for Plein Aire Event
The Auburn Arts Commission is now accepting applications for a juried plein aire painting event: “The AAC Presents Plein Aire Painting at GSP” to be held September 14 at the Gene Stratton-Porter state historic site. Juror Jennifer Emswiler will present a discussion of plein aire and the impact of art in rural areas the week of the event. Artwork will be on display at the Noble County Convention and Visitors’ Bureau until October 3.

Déjà Vu Art and Fine Craft Show Call For Artists
Held in celebration of America Recycles Day, the fifteenth Déjà Vu Art and Fine Craft Show will take place on November 9 from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM at The Commons, a civic space in downtown Columbus, Indiana.
Event organizers are looking for professional artists who use scrap materials or reuse and/or recycle items to apply for the annual event. A few who work with natural or sustainable materials will be selected to participate in this juried show.
Also, an artist or someone who works in fine crafts is being sought to appear as the Featured Artist. The person who is selected will receive a free booth space, a complimentary stay on November 8 at the Hotel Indigo in downtown Columbus, mention in all publicity and a photo of his or her work featured on posters and postcards.

Save the Date for 2019 Indiana Arts Homecoming
Save the date, October 24–25, 2019, to connect with artists, arts organizations, arts advocates, and community leaders at Indiana’s statewide two-day arts conference in Indianapolis. The theme for the 2019 Indiana Arts Homecoming is Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Access: Arts for All. The conference will explore what "Arts for All" means in practice, inspire new ideas, and deepen leadership and capacity for artists, organizations and communities.
Registration opens later this spring. In the meantime, please RSVP on Facebook and invite your friends to attend this annual conference for artists, arts educators, arts administrators, advocates and community leaders.
