Everything is done digitally, from claim submission to reimbursement to real-time reports. All claims are submitted online through a desktop or the iOS/ Android app. Employee claim reimbursement is directly deposited into their bank account. by Kurian M. Tharakan
In 1968, at the height of the Vietnam war, there was over 543,000 American military personnel in the theatre of conflict, but only 80,000 of these were considered actual combat troops. What was everyone else doing? Supporting the front line!
Wars aren’t typically fought by everyone engaging the enemy in direct combat. The majority of personnel are needed for:
- Provisioning
- Engineering and Construction
- Transportation and Aviation
- Mechanical Assistance and Repair
- Emergency Medical and Care
- Food Preparation
- Strategy and Planning
- Intelligence and Surveillance
- … and hundreds of other roles to support the thin front line
These other roles exist as a multiplier of over 6 to 1. In other words, for every one person shooting at the enemy, more than six people are supporting them in some way to accomplish the mission.

StartupBlink, a Swiss interactive platform for startups, has released its 2019 Ecosystem Ranking Report, with Canada holding on to the third position, boasting five cities in the top 100 startup ecosystems globally.
Along with Canada, the US, UK, and Israel all held on to the top four spots for countries with the strongest startup ecosystems. However, Canada’s typical tech hubs fell in the rankings compared to 2017. This year, Toronto ranked 15, after dropping four spots, while Vancouver dropped six places to 24. Montreal also dropped 15 places to the 49th strongest startup ecosystem.
But at the same time as Canada’s biggest tech hubs are moving down, smaller Canadian ecosystems are moving up. Ottawa, for example, jumped from 102 to 63 in the global ranking, and Edmonton jumped up 30 spots, now ranking in the top 100 cities.
