GEELONG REGION CROSS COUNTRY
XCR19 - Round 1 - The Jells Park Relays
Jells Park North, Waverley Road, Wheelers Hill

Hello Team Geelong

Thank you to all the runners who have made themselves available for Saturday's XCR season opener at Jells Park. As is always the case, it promises to be a great day of racing.

Some important race day reminders, particularly for those who haven't competed for Geelong Region before...

Team Tent
Look out for the Geelong Region tent in the AthsVic team zone at Jells Park and feel free to make this your base for the afternoon.

Arrival time
It is important to arrive at Jells Park with sufficient time to collect your AthsVic membership package. Either Brett or I (Sarah) will collect these packages from the AthsVic tent for distribution. It is compulsory to wear you bib, front and back, at each and every race across the season. In addition, each runner will require a relay team specific number which you will be able to collect from me or your team timer on the day.
Also, please do consider your team mates by arriving in sufficient time to touch base prior to your run. Jells Park is approximately 90mins travel time from Geelong. Open races commence at 12:30pm (6km - two laps of the course), juniors at 1pm (3km - one lap).

Timing
We have had a couple of people make themselves available for officiating - thank you! - but runners please do bring someone who can help with team timing. Some teams may need to time themselves and complete the appropriate form for submission to AthsVic post race on Saturday. Clipboards and instructions for this very straight forward process will be available from the Geelong Region tent.

Uniforms
For runners requiring uniforms they will be available from the Geelong tent on Saturday. Compulsory singlets are $25 and crop tops $30 - either one of these must be worn. Black or navy blue shorts are preferred. Correct cash would be greatly appreciated.

To our new runners, a huge welcome. We are rapt to have you on board. Upon arrival at Jells Park on Saturday make your way to the team tent zone. I'll be looking out for you - and please don't hesitate to ask me or your team mates any questions throughout the day.

For more info about the season, check out the XCR Handbook. It is a very useful resource and gives a course outline and race specifics for all 10 rounds.

Really looking forward to seeing you on Saturday! Any issues or questions please don't hesitate to ask!

Kind regards
Sarah
