Congratulations Graduates!

To our graduating class of 2019, you did it! The CDI congratulates you for your hard work, dedication, and commitment to your education. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us, you have enriched this campus and SUU is a better place because of you. We will miss you dearly but can not wait to watch your continued growth from afar. Always remember this is not the end, it is the beginning.

CDI Student of the Month

As Vice President of NASA Morgan assisted with the coordination of on campus events including Native American Heritage Week, Miss Native SUU, and the Pow Wow. She also facilitated a panel for the English 2010, Writing About Race class and advocated for the Cedar High School mascot name change. Next year, Morgan will be the President of NASA and a Center for Diversity and Inclusion (CDI) Beacon.

Morgan's nominator wanted to see Morgan acknowledged for her work in NASA and her contributions to the CDI. "This academic year NASA has visibly supported all of the clubs in the CDI by attending events and meetings as an organization. I know that their activeness was due to the leadership of the executive committee, which Morgan is a part of." Congratulations Morgan!
Morgan Whiskers is a Junior Exercise Science major and Human Nutrition minor at SUU. She is enrolled in the Navajo Nation and from the San Juan Southern Paiutes. Morgan currently serves as Vice President of the Native American Student Association (NASA).

OUR MISSION
The Center for Diversity and Inclusion (CDI) exists to validate the multiple identities present on our campus, while integrating the voices and experiences of marginalized people. We provide emotional, social, and financial support to students from historically underrepresented communities (e.g. students of color, LGBTQIA+ students, first-generation college students, etc.)

The CDI collaborates with campus partners to foster a learning environment that respects multiple perspectives and differences through multicultural clubs, workshops, trainings and cultural programming. The CDI invites members of the campus community to join in conversation about how to cultivate an inclusive, safe, and welcoming campus culture.
