The prestigious recognition is bestowed on University of Arizona alumni who have uniquely demonstrated a commitment to an academic college’s success and mission through professional achievement, service or support. 
For her excellence and distinction in research, Donata Vercelli, MD, has been awarded the University of Arizona Koffler Prize for Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity.
The new College of Medicine – Tucson program will be Arizona's only genetic counseling graduate program. It is expected to fill a significant gap in genetic counselor training in the Southwestern United States
The Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) has granted the Office of Continuing Medical Education (CME) reaccreditation with commendation—the highest status awarded by ACCME.
One of a few programs in the nation administered through a clinical department, the UA Bachelor of Science major and minor in EMS is designed to enhance emergency medical professionals’ leadership and clinical skills, preparing them for a future in prehospital medicine.

In collaboration with UA clinicians and researchers, the new center will offer a comprehensive range of services for affected patients and families, conduct groundbreaking treatment and prevention studies, and expand the UA’s research portfolio in the study of these conditions.  

The implementation of a massive, statewide public health initiative led by College of Medicine – Tucson researchers and involving 21,000 prehospital care patients has doubled the survival rate of severe traumatic brain injury victims and tripled the survival rate among those who were intubated.

This year's graduating Class of 2019 included eight Native American students. Through programs like P-MAP, the college has been able to focus on recruiting and helping native students succeed in the many aspects of the medical field.
