Remember that, if you ever have any news or events you would like us to share with the Irish neuroscience community, please email us at neuroscienceireland@gmail.com.

Warm regards,

FENS Call for Symposium and Technical Workshops
The 12th FENS Forum of Neuroscience will run from 11th - 15th July 2020 in Glasgow. The call for symposia and technical workshops will close on Monday 20th May. This is a great opportunity to showcase Irish neuroscience and as such we hope that many of you will submit a proposal.
BNA2019 Festival of Neuroscience
NSI was a Festival Partner with the BNA for a hugely successful BNA2019 Festival of Neuroscience Meeting held at the Convention Centre Dublin.

The NSI scientific symposium, in addition to the numerous poster presentations, highlighted a the wide range of excellent and high level research conducted by Irish neuroscience researchers. Access to speaker and poster abstracts can be found via the following link.

To mark the first time the BNA festival of Neuroscience hs been held outside of Britian, the European Journal of Neuroscience has put together a Special Virtual Issue. This is a collection of notable papers from British and Irish Neuroscientists including some of the most cited papers from 206-2019 and a comprehensive review of Irish Neuroscience.

In addition to the excellent scientific programme, NSI was involved in organising an exciting series of events targeted at the public, patients, patient organisations and anyone with an interest in the brain.

A special thanks to  Dr Áine Kelly who spear headed the organising of the Public Programme which was ably assisted by Dr Eilís Dowd and Louise Tratt (BNA), as well as all the organisations and individuals who organised events (Full list).

Twitter - Increasing NSI visibility

April has been a excellent month for NSI on twitter with 375 additional followers and almost 200K tweet impressions. Much of this activity is the result of the involvement of NSI and its members in the BNA2019 meeting with the majority of the pictures presented above posted in tweets during the meeting. We hope to continue to grow our profile and visibility so please remember to tag @NeuroscienceIRL when tweeting.
