Spring Work Day

Saturday, May 4th

The 2019 season is fast approaching and we're all getting excited to get on the water. To ensure a safe and successful season, GHYC once again needs your help!

We hope to see you all this coming Saturday, May 4th from 10AM - earlier if you like! There will be tasks for everyone, no matter what skills you have.

The first task is to clean the pier. Please bring a yard broom, shovel and scraper to remove vegetation from cracks etc., on the pier. Don’t forget to bring your protective gloves.

The Club’s fleet of sailing dinghies need to be taken out of the yard and prepared for launch. The Funyaks, Aquastar and Squib need antifouling - bring protective gloves.

Moorings and other equipment stored in the yard must be moved to the pier and made ready-for-use. The pontoon needs to be towed around from its winter home at Pig Island and attached to the pier.

The Racing marks need to be placed and the Clubhouse also needs to be cleaned and tidied up. Again, bring your rubber gloves.

The Pavilion then has to be tidied so as to be ready for the Curry Night and Sailing School activities.

After a hard day’s work, we will meet again from 6PM at the Clubhouse for a Curry Night for all members and friends.

Thank you!
