MAY 2019
Welcome to the third edition of BYOT. As we look forward to celebrating WA Day with a long weekend ahead, it seemed like a great chance to reflect on all the wonderful things about living and working in WA. We have both lived and worked in all corners of the world, from Europe to the West Indies, but we are lucky to call WA home now. We count ourselves very fortunate to be establishing our business in such a vibrant city, surrounded by stunning scenery and blessed with a beautiful climate.
To our WA readers, we wish you a safe and enjoyable long weekend!

Our Heroes of the Week

Terry and Sara of TS Campers became our heroes of the month when they helped our Lisa out with some mobile accommodation for a trip Down South.

TS Campers design and manufacture bespoke camper trailers here in WA. The camper trailers can be customised to individual requirements, with diverse options for fittings and furnishings. Terry and Sara established the company to offer a high quality product to the burgeoning Aussie camping and caravanning market, at a highly competitive price.

"The camper was unbelievably easy to tow, unhook and use in minutes," enthused Lisa. "It's very cosy and caused a lot of interest when we camped up. If you collaborated with a group of friends and invested in a camper, you could explore every weekend,  with cheap accommodation and it's such fun!"

"The best features were the awning that spans 180 degrees around the van offering shade and protection from the elements, the wall mounted TV, and the Bluetooth speaker and disco lights."

Lisa's road trip: Perth - Bunbury - Williams – Ravensthorpe - Esperance - Albany - Bunbury – Perth

Emerging Agrifood Entrepreneurs with RRR Network WA

Our work in The Wheatbelt with the Muresk Institute supporting Agrifood Emerging Entrepreneurs continues to gather pace. Two enthusiastic groups of entrepreneurial foodies shared a two day intensive residential workshop at the end of April and May.

The Agrifood Emerging Entrepreneurs training program teaches entrepreneurial skills to encourage, support and motivate business owners to re-harness their power, understand their innate ability to succeed and overcome any obstacles. Participants enjoy a 2 day intensive workshop exploring skills and attributes of an entrepreneur, entrepreneurial marketing and business growth strategies including future focused business and market analysis.

The Agrifood Emerging Entrepreneurs program was generously sponsored by the Muresk Institute for the RRR Network WA, and many of the participants have a historic connection to the Institute as returning students or links to a family who attended the centre.

BREAKING NEWS: Thanks to generous support from SBDC, we will be taking this program into the regions, visiting specific country towns. Subscribe to make sure you keep up to date!

Entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs have many of the same traits; one chooses to work within an organisation, whilst the other chooses the riskier road of self-employment. The skills and attributes of intrapreneurs can be incredibly valuable to an organisation, if understood, measured and identified by self-nominated "innovative" companies.

Imagine working in an organisation that not only understood the potential of using such minds, but measured entrepreneurial mindset of all their human capital to then use those identified as displaying key entrepreneurial traits in planning organisational strategic innovation?
