May 1 – 4
I want to give thanks to all those who participated in the GRN Canada banquet on Saturday, April 27th. I also give praise for Godsave Ole Megiroo, being able to receive his visa to visit Canada. His presentation was inspirational in hearing how God worked in his life. It was also an encouragement to hear how GRN materials are having a positive impact on those language groups that are able to hear the Gospel in their own language.
Godsave has now arrived home in Arusha, Tanzania. He is took with him 21 Mega Voice players in 3 languages, they have the Bible and GRN materials on them. Pray that the audio players will be put into the hands of those who will most benefit from them.
Kenny and Joan McKee from GRN United Kingdom ask for prayer for their recording trip to Tbilisi, Georgia on Thursday the 2nd May to the 10th May. Please pray for safety in travel, good fellowship with our partners and language helpers and that they will be a blessing to everyone we meet. Also pray that the recordings when completed will be used widely to win people into Gods Kingdom.
May 5 – 11
Mauritania in North Africa is opposed to the gospel of Jesus Christ. This makes ministry very difficult for Christian workers, including GRN distributor Brother A, who has been arrested on several occasions. Pray for his safety and that of his family.
Pray too for recordist AK from Sierra Leone who plans to visit Mauritania to work with Brother A on several recordings. Pray this will happen in God’s timing and with His protection.
The GRN Nepal team is living with uncertainty as their government has recently introduced anti-conversion laws. Pray for courage & boldness in the face of opposition & for God’s protection.
Pray for our two new Nepali recordists, Sanjay & Sanish who trained recently in Thailand.
Please pray for wise co-ordination between GRN Thailand and GRN Myanmar as they plan for the recording of New Testament for the Moken sea people. They live on islands in Myanmar and Thailand.
Pray for Walter Okelo, the interim director for Kenya. He has taken on this new responsibility this month.
Pray for the Kenya Board as they meet on Thursday, May 16th.
May 12 – 18 – Canada
The Quarterly newsletter will be mailed out at the end of the month. Pray that the articles will be an encouragement in how God is using GRN to, ‘Tell the story of Jesus’.
David gives thanks for the volunteers who give their time to keep the Canadian office going. Pray that new helpers will join our team.
Pray for Kevin and Ruth Horan as they take a needed vacation.
Pray for Marian Elliott, as she provides a service to women in GRN, through prayer and words of encouragement.
Pray for Diane Roberts as she comes into the office this week to do the finances.
The Update and Praise & Prayer are due to go into the mail next week. Pray for David as he prepares them for mailing.
May 19 – 25 – International
Elise Cooper is the Administrative Assistant to Graydon Colville the International Director. She is also coordinating the GRN Council meeting that will take place in November.
Pray for Elise as she provides needed documents for the GRN Directors to apply for their visas.
New Prayer Partners: Please ask the Lord, to raise up faithful prayer partners & supporters for the work of GRN around the world.
Give thanks for God's provision of much needed staff and volunteers in the Australian office.
Pray for the European teams as they reach and serve the many refugees still pouring in. The
Mp3 players are so effective in “speaking” their language.
Pray for the upcoming recordist training course that will take place in South America. Pray for needed visas for those that will be traveling from other countries.
Jon Rulison and Lot Ganoi recently visited several Urak Lawoi villages in southern Thailand and distributed mp3 players loaded with Urak Lawoi recordings. Pray that the villagers will listen to the messages and Bible stories and respond to the Master’s voice. Pray for long-term fruit to grow and show in their lives for the glory of God.
May 26 – 31 – GRN
Pray for the new GRN work in Spain as it grows and develops under the leadership of Joel and Judith Hernandez. Throughout the year the team in Spain distributed materials mostly in the languages of North and Central Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and South America.
GRN Centres and staff need to develop strong local prayer and financial support. We need more local churches to get behind our work. This will increase our capacity to recruit and take on more ministry projects.
The 5fish App is proving to be a useful tool in getting the gospel out. Pray for the increasing use of the app to language groups in Canada and around the world.
GRN Togo praises God for the 100 plus people who responded to the outreach and expressed interest in becoming followers of Christ.
Pray for the Nigeria team as they work on updating three groups of languages that were done in the 60’s.
The GRN Canada office will be moving to a new location this weekend. Pray that the move goes well. Further information to come.
