What better way to spend the rainy days than chatting shop over our tasting bench and tasting the wines of one of the Barossa's Iconic family owned labels in Peter Lehmann.

"Peter Lehmann established the iconic Tanunda-based winery in 1979 to help ensure the livelihood of the Barossa grape growers after a period of hardship in the region. Today, the historic winery and cellar door offers vistors a glimpse into the Barossa's rich history as well as the opportunity to enjoy premium wines that speak to their origins - the finest vineyards and fruit, the winemaking community and the unique character of the Barossa." - James Halliday

The skies have finally opened and down from the heavens we've received some much needed precipitation. Whilst in-store we have received some required winter warmers to keep you cosy as we settle in for a night in on the couch away from the drizzle!

Bera Barbera d'Alba 2018 - $26.00 or $23.40 in any 6
This about as fresh as you are going to get for any Italian bottling at the moment. 100% Barbera sourced from a 30 year old South-East facing vineyard on the outskirts of Barbaresco Commune. Aromas of dark cherries, morello, garnet ruby flints and and alpine herbs, on the palate you are looking at a melange of black and red cherries and berries, vibrant acidity with lovely crunch and drive followed by soft velvety tannin that builds and gives fantastic length.

Stefano Lubiana Primavera Pinot Noir 2017 - $42 or $37.80 in any 6
Estate grown Pinot from a mix of two terroirs - grey gravelly loams over clay and red loam over gravel. Some whole bunch during fermentation gives aromatic lift and perfume whilst a short time on skins and stem tannins provide fine and delicate structure. One of the best value Pinots in Australia.

At the Ed Cellars we take pride in selecting the best cleanskin wines in the market.  We get just as excited finding these gems as we do any other wine that comes across our tasting bench!  More than often these wines become the staff take home wines when we are on a budget and in the very near future they will get a bit of a face lift so that the label is not so coy and you don't have to hide it under a brown paper bag to convince your mates that it is quality booze!  WATCH THIS SPACE.  But, what is really important is whats in the bottle!  So a quick update...........
