Dear Friends, Prayer Partners, and Pastors,

The last few weeks have been so blessed! I flew into Denver Colorado to preach at Woodside Baptist Church where I was raised. I also preached at Castleview Baptist in Castlerock where so many of my friends and family are attending. I believe God spoke to hearts in both churches that Sunday. Praise the Lord that each is praying about taking me on for support as God provides.

Another big praise is that Ohana Baptist Church in Hawaii and Westwood Baptist Church in Missouri informed me this week that they will both begin to support the ministry this coming May. I have been praying a lot about finances lately and the Lord is supplying in His time. Although I am on “deputation” this year has filled up with so many opportunities to preach the gospel. I need more monthly support in order to keep traveling but it is hard to say no to the calling to preach Christ in order to travel and ask for money!

Next year will be very important for me to raise financial support to fulfill this calling. I will take fewer overseas trips, hopefully get married (secret), and focus on missions conferences and meetings to raise support. Please pray with me in faith and also feel free to share my information with anyone looking to support the gospel in the world’s most needy region. The 10/40 window where I’m called contains 2/3 of the worlds population and almost all of the unreached people groups (less than 2% Christian).

I am currently in Malawi Africa with Missionary Eric Chapman. We have been working together for a few years and I have learned so much from his experience of 28 years in missions. Last week we traveled to the Lower Shire, one of the poorest regions of the world, and I preached for his medical clinics. Several Decisions were made for Christ and we are rejoicing for one man who came to get glasses, stayed for the second preaching time after he saw the doctor, and had his spiritual eyes opened to see his need for Jesus!

This week we traveled back down to the Shire to do school outreaches. Many of the schools don’t have any sports supplies so we bring soccer balls in order to play with the teens and take a few hours to preach and answer their questions. This was a new endeavor for Brother Eric and his team to organize but we have been dreaming it up for almost two years.

The Lord blessed this program and teens were saved in each school. This is a simple idea any evangelist can run, but they need more laborers. A man is needed either to come here, or to be called from amongst the Malawians, to preach Christ to the youths. One school is campaigning to criminalize teen fornication and pregnancy in their area because so many are dropping out of School. Few young people know or have a relationship with their fathers. They must be introduced to the Everlasting Father.

I will be preaching in Malawi for three more weeks and then returning to the states to prepare for a summer full of camps and youth conferences. I will also be visiting my girl Joanna and her family. Thank you to everyone who has prayed for this relationship! She is a blessing.

The second half of this year is filling up but I still need a few meetings for missions support. God bless you for reading these letters and supporting me in prayer and with finances. “They that preach the gospel should live of the gospel.” “Not that I desire a reward, but that fruit may abound to your account!”

In His Love,

Micah Self
