Your questions answered

F. asks:  Can you watch the class on your own schedule or must you tune in at a certain time? Can you go back later and watch again?

Answer:  You can do this WHOLE THING on your own time. Every live meeting will be recorded and you can watch them as often as you like, for eternity. Same with the recordings - lots of people tell me they listen on repeat.

And we will also have the Slack channel! That will be open for the foreseeable future, so the conversation can be ongoing there 24/7

C. asks:  Wondering if your program is for me. I currently binge, then purge up to 6 times a day. I was formerly anorexic and exercise-purged.

Answer:  I thought about this question all night, and here's my conclusion: Habits are, at bottom, constructed and deconstructed in basically the same way, whether that's bingeing or purging or nail-biting or flossing. If you're interested in a simple approach to habit change, this is probably going to be of some use to you.

Almost everyone I work with is a binge eater, stress eater, overeater, mindless eater - and has weight they want to lose. They don't purge, as a rule, so there are real differences between your situation and the people I typically work with, aka my area of experience.

Bottom line: I think this work would be beneficial but perhaps not sufficient for someone who's also purging. I imagine you would do well with more expert, 1:1 support (and I acknowledge that's not easy to find).

T. asks:  I would love to do this program and have hit the point where I'm sick of beating myself up about food and eating and the state of my body. But I am moving across country at the end of May. Those last two weeks could be a bit stressful. Should I wait? When will you be doing this program again?

Answer:  A cross-country move is likely to be a challenge! So there are two ways to think about it. Would this class be a support to you? I think so! Overhead is low! It's a brief, comforting 10-minute audio per day, every one designed to make life 1000x easier. There's virtually no homework.

On the other hand, you will probably want to make changes to your life and eating in response to what we talk about, and just paying attention to what you're eating is a load on the brain. Maybe this is a time to just absorb the material - to sit in the "Lounge" - and make changes later. Eating is for all of us an ongoing project, anyway.

If you decide that the timing is not right even for absorbing helpful info, I'll most likely run the class again in the fall.

L. asks: Hey Max! I am interested in BNEB. Can you tell me how it compares to the work you & I did a couple of years ago? More in depth? The same? New tidbits? Top secret discoveries?

Answer: I have no secrets from you :) but this material has a different structure, format, and definitely some new info. It’s more of a succession of skills that build on a foundation - less free-form. Plus a cohort: Four live group sessions and lots of other Q&A / discussion time.

So same foundation, same original center of gravity, plus some new stuff. Overall, it would be very reinforcing and feel really supportive. And I would sure love to have you! <<< same goes for anyone I've worked 1:1 with, or in other groups.

from a conversation earlier today: "I am losing weight so fast - 8 lbs so far. That doesn't sound like a lot [it actually does] but add in the factor of ZERO PAIN ZERO STRUGGLE BARELY TRYING.

"I finally understood the power of the decision. That endless deliberating in my head Are we gonna? Aren’t we? How much? Are you sure? Just this time?

"That confusion and endless decision-making is the WORST. We don't know how much energy that costs us; we just take it for granted “Well obviously I’m arguing with myself about food all day. What other option do I have?”

"But your teachings sank in and result? Just shut down the debate. And: So. Much. Weight loss." --Simone Grace Seol, hypnotist, Tarot instructor
